apparently had 7.5 hours fuel for the 5 hour flight. Fuel long gone. Seems best hope is a water emergency landing and that doesn't seem very likely with zero contact.

MH VP Operations just on CNN -

"no communications with the company from MH370 prior to loss of contact"
"still no report on plane location as of now (scotching rumours of it landing in china)"

Very sad. Hits home too as this isn't in Africa, Iran or somewhere remote, but on a carrier that many of us fly, which makes It that little bit more real. Thoughts to the families and friends of all those whose were on board.

Very much this. MH is very much a top-tier carrier and I'm sure this will hit home to a lot of Australians.

None more so than those involved in the this very unfortunate incident.

Scary to think that a plane can just disappear. Thoughts are with all that are affected.

'disappears' about 2hrs into flight..flight track would place it near a landmass ...even if over water...no 'ground'/traffic control/airspace tracking???.. 'arguing' whose 'airspace' it was in!!!! it's been daylight for at least 6hrs in that area...and 'search/rescue' cant locate ANYTHING!! WTF a 777 is NOT a small plane!!

What a terrible tragedy this is shaping up to be. Thoughts with all those on board.
