Missing Foreign Currency Amounts?

Still not able to view foreign currency amounts with online display!

This is now getting very frustrating....

Do your monthly statements still not show the values you are after?

JOhnK - just checking but I assume you are clicking on the + symbol next to the line item?

Mine doesn't show the International amounts either still .. although they show up on the statement.

Next Intl transaction may be in a few days. Will check again then.

Last statement no. Next statement not due until first week August. Apparently the master statement shows the foreign currency amount and it has been resent but I have not bothered to check the mail.

Simon, there is no + symbol next to any foreign currency amount. Just the equivalent AUD amount but not knowing the reference foreign currency amount is causing havoc. Even Show details/Hide details does not show the foreign currency amount. Amex promised that this will be fixed quickly.

I have 13 foreign currency transactions on current statement plus I am expecting accommodation charges from US and Europe to appear on there as well. It is a nightmare trying to work out if all is OK or if they have slipped in any undocumented charges.

I had a charge come through recently which should be billed in an overseas amount. It still doesn't show the + symbol, nor anything about the actual foreign charge.

This is very frustrating and is going to hamper me a little when overseas later this year.

(Statements are fine. Just not the "Recent Activity" display of your transactions.)

I am still having the same issue.

It is not easy being away for 5 weeks trying to determine if the correct foreign currency amount is being charged to the card.

I have complained a couple of times now, asked references to be added to my account about the issue and have been following up. Just to annoy them. As you say very difficult when you not in the country to get a statement.

But i did manage to get my online PDF statements updated with the amounts, but had to ask and point it out to them that it was missing and statements are only issues once the month is over.

Annoyed ! but what else to do...

Are these regular Amex or Gold/Plat? I am having no issue with this on either my Corp Green or personal Gold - both Charge cards rather than Credit cards.

I have had the same problem with my Rewards Maximiser gold credit card.

I will have some US charges on my new Ultimate credit card later this month, so will see if they appear correctly.

I have never had an AMEX charge card so can't comment on appearance of these online transactions.

Just to confirm for my last ForEx amount I am seeing this on my online transaction history:

08 August HEATHROW RAIL LINK CUSTOMER SERVICES -$35.33
With a + symbol next to Heathrow. When clicked the plus symbol expands to provide this info:

08 August HEATHROW RAIL LINK CUSTOMER SERVICES
14.50 POUNDS STERLING BILLED AS
14.50 POUNDS STERLING BILLED AS
GOODS & SERVICES

I ahve two Amex cards. One corporate and one private and this function has always worked for me. Seem strange that this is such a hit or miss problem :!:

The printed statement spells everything out. For example:

Britsh Airways London Eye 30.00 UK Pound Sterling
AUD 73.34 includes conversion commission of AUD 1.79.

This would be the pdf one you can view on the Amex site.

for a while my online statments were also wrong, pdf updated when they were informed.

The real issue is maybe you want the info before the statement to check you have not been ripped off and charged more than expected or to do expense claims mid statement cycle.

For what it's worth, I can report also having this problem with online review of transactions since about July. This is with a Rewards Maximizer gold credit card. No joy with trying to get AMEX to acknowledge any kind of problem exists.

There is no + sign next to foreign transactions anymore, and the "Show Details" button does nothing at all. Paper statements (or indeed the online end of month statement) do have the foreign current details including the AMEX conversion commission - but like many of you I find it's very important to check the foreign amount *before* the end of the statement period.

One possibility that occurs to me (given the fact that this problem seems to occur always for some people and never for others) is that it is some kind of web browser issue (e.g. it works in Internet Explorer but those enlightened folks amongst us using, say, Firefox, can't see it).

I am using Inernet Explorer, v7 I think, with all the latest updates and the AMEX website still does not show the foreign currency amounts for me.

I am using IE 6.0 and Firefox. Currency amounts show in both browsers.

A purchase I made last month:
Code:
15.00 POUNDS STERLING BILLED AS $36.56
15.00 POUNDS STERLING BILLED AS
SECURE TRADING TRANSACTION
(Copied and pasted within my FireFox browser)
