Missing Foreign Currency Amounts?

One possibility that occurs to me (given the fact that this problem seems to occur always for some people and never for others) is that it is some kind of web browser issue (e.g. it works in Internet Explorer but those enlightened folks amongst us using, say, Firefox, can't see it).

Nope, I've used both FireFox 2 (2.0.0.6) and IE 7 (7.0.5730.11) and get the same problem with both browsers. The issue also affects both my Qantas Amex and my Plat Amex.

The issue has been around for a long time.

I have tried removing and adding one of my cards to my online profile . The problem was still there with the card.

Next diagnostic step I took was to remove both cards (effectively cancelling my online access, but the account was still active) and created a new online account and re-added one of my cards. The problem was still there.

Finally, I re-added both cards back into my original profile and checked again. Still not displaying correctly.

Amex, what is the real issue? And why havn't you fixed it yet???? Getting mightily annoying!

Hmmm... well there goes that theory. Good to see there are plenty of Firefox users here anyway.

That likely points the finger squarely back at AMEX - the question is, what have we unfortuantes done to fall into some category that causes us to lose access to the foreign current amounts??

FWIW, my last AMEX statement has over 40 foreign currency transactions despite not being out of Australia at all during the month, so this is a fairly important issue for me - and know doubt lots of others here too. AMEX, I hope you're listening. By my rough calculations, thanks to me you're creaming in excess of AUD$30,000 p.a. from unfortunately merchants out there

HAd a foreign currency transaction hit my account last night, and no sign of a + sign, or any indication of how to see foreign amounts. Just the Australian Dollar amount.

Maybe they have fixed something. This morning when I checked on my transactions the + sign was back and I could view the foreign currency information

It appears to be the case. I was just looking at my Amex transactions and noticed that the foreign currency amount has returned. It was not there yesterday.

Fixed for me as well.

Finally Amex listened and resolved it!

I can confirm mine is working too now.

And FWIW it also now includes "COMM.FEE", which wasn't there before it broke several months ago (but has been appearing on the paper statements as "coversion commission").

That only leaves one minor nag for AMEX in case your listening: on the printed statements, the foreign current amount doesn't show on pages after the first page if the item is the first one on the page - I just get the AUD amount, foreign currency name (e.g. "Polish Zloty") and conversion commission amount - but for some reason the actual foreign amount isn't printed - it's just blank space.
