More Changes to the QFF account page

I think I've worked out where the number is coming from.

My points activity page is showing a status bonus on refunded classic flight rewards. The 43 points on the end must have come from this, as I believe WP/P1 100% status bonuses always end in a clean hundred.





There's no pattern in how this status bonus on refunds is being calculated - here's an example of a 2 pax refund from last year where it has calculated different bonuses for each adult. Both pax are WP, and the refund was for JL F which wouldn't earn a status bonus anyway!

Out of curiosity is your QFF account the old style look and feel or the newer updated one. When I look at MrsM account her account still has the option to check Show Status Bonus points



In my account I seem to have lost this feature or I cannot seem to locate it. My activity page looks like this (I only included the first line)



If your observations are correct about refunded points that may explain why I have a 50K+ number. When I look at my QF account it indicates that I have redeemed 3.2M points and have cancelled 2.1M worth of points flights. Even these numbers are confusing as each time I add, change, cancel sectors within any of the bookings it is reticketed with the original points returned and the new amount deducted. All of these bookings are either F or J rewards with the likes of BA, JL, CX, QR and as you pointed out will not earn points or status bonus.

That old URL automatically redirects to the new one

You may have to clear the cache or try another browser. I hit the old link in chrome which I use for my account and was redirected to the new account. I pasted the URL into safari which I do not normally use and the old style appeared.

I think @sudoer cracked the code after getting to the old layout I was able to see returned status bonus points for reward bookings and after summing these up and the 400 from yesterday's flight I have been able to get to the 52663 number. As sudoer alluded to there seems to be no logic in how these numbers are calculated, looking at my account the first entry was 16 Apr.

This tile is completely irrelevant and adds no value.

I've got status bonus showing on my cancellations going all the way back to Aug 2020! ha. But I think only the last month or two has counted to the counter on the new activity page.

I have 4,300 status bonus points showing on the headline tile. I have had NO Qantas, or other flights since February last year (sob). The last, QF11 in February 2020 shows no status bonus sub-category. Figure out where they get 4,300

Thanks. I was still getting the old page. On the new page I have almost 100k (but an unround figure) bonus points. Hmm.

@sudoer I think I have a solution; from the main account page:
- "See Activity Statement" in the Qantas Points section takes you to the "new" points by category/date activity statement



Back at the main account page:
- "See Activity" in the Status section takes you to the Status Activity page but clicking on the "xx_xx Qantas Points" link in the red banner displays the "old" page

Checking both old and new, I have had one flight between MEL and BNE this membership "year" and the status bonus tally on the new page reflects this.

Just more dumbing down of the site making it harder to reconcile correct crediting.

I'm not sure if it's related to the account page changes, the update to the classic flight award interface in April... or is something else entirely.

Whatever the case, it's making searching unnecessarily difficult.

Has anyone else noticed that the 'Status Bonus - Points' tile has vanished from their account, mine has. I logged into MrsM account and noticed her account is now in the newer look and feel and she has the 'Status Bonus - Points' tile. I am now thinking (being cynical) that QF has worked out who I am on this site and slips in changes to my account to get a reaction IMO old look and feel was not that bad and in general the website had issues but was not that bad and could be worked through. QF seem to be constantly tinkering with their site and most of it is not for the better.
