I like my QF SG card, doubt I will ever get to WP so this is one I will try and hang on to.

My Hertz Gold Club 5* card is very handy. Always pay for a small car and virtually always get a big one for no extra cost.

Always have a few 4c off petrol vouchers. ;) My Earth + card does the trick in getting me points. Not much else worth boasting about.

And soon KRIS Flyer thru Westpac[/quote]

Now frivolous amusement has turned to serious interest. Do tell about KF.

There is an excellent thread on Kris Flyer which is only days old.
It is a Westpac alliance with Singapore Airlines that is attracting us based on its generosity.

Seeing as everyone else is... (favourite cards in bold).

Everyday wallet:

  • Licence
  • Westpac Earth Platinum
  • Citibank Platinum (fee free for life, otherwise I wouldn't have it)
  • AMEX Charge card
  • Commbank Keycard
  • Myer One
  • Kit&Kaboodle membership (a bar in Sydney)
  • Ivy Pool Club membership
  • A few frequent coffee cards
Travel wallet:

  • Qantas FF Platinum
  • Starwood Platinum
  • Hhonours Gold (just recently downgraded to Silver)
  • Hyatt Diamond (just recently downgraded to Platinum)
  • APEC Business Travel Card
  • A heap of Express passes which I give to friends and family when they travel
  • Hertz Gold
  • Budget Fastbreak (doesn't get used much - got sick of Budget's inconsistent service around the world)
  • A heap of others I don't use very often
Cheers :)

Well...as they say...join the crowd...

Emptying my wallet reveals (most important ones bolded)...
  • Drivers license (QLD)
  • Wallet size photos of my family
  • Medicare card
  • Blue card
  • Commonwealth Bank Everyday Access Account keycard
  • Fly Buys (mended using sticky tape)
  • APESMA Graduate member
  • Institute of Engineers Australia Graduate member
  • Suncorp Metway Visa Debit
  • Suncorp Metway Account keycard
  • Priority Club rewards (Club level)
  • American Express Gold from IEAust
  • Commonwealth Bank Standard Awards Visa credit card
  • Wizard Clear Advantage Mastercard

...plus a few odd business cards floating here and there...and that exercise has just pointed to me a tear in the side of my card holder. :( At least my cards aren't falling out, so not that bad.

I have a small pocket card holder that carries my university student and staff IDs.

And I have just received a black card holder from joining HPC that will contain my most significant travel cards. Amongst these will include:
  • Qantas Frequent Flyer Platinum
  • Hilton HHonors Gold
  • Hilton Premium Club
  • 2 x Member for a Stay cards
  • HPC Great Rate card
  • (soon) Air New Zealand Gold Elite

I'm sure I also have my Malaysia Airlines Enrich Blue card (from waaaaaaaaay back) somewhere, then somewhere else I also have my Velocity Red card; a Flying Club Red card will be joining the fray (pun intended) soon. Oh yes, and a laminated paper American Airlines entry-status "card". Plus a whole bunch of other cards I can't even care name, all stuffed in other card holders......

Geez, even with only the bolded cards, that's a sizeable amount!

:rolleyes::rolleyes: I really need to clear out some cards......

[*]Ivy Pool Club membership

OK I acknowledge that this is way off topic, but Febs I couldn't help but notice this one in your list. The folks outside of Sydney might not know about the Ivy Pool Club but as a local I'm curious to know how you use your membership? I mean, do you actually go there for a swim...???

Pool Club's pretty much members-only on Thurs/Fri/Sat nights - I've seen groups of (very) attractive girls get turned away, no guys in sight. Membership gets you in any time (except Summer Sundays - in true Ivy style you need the next level of membership for that), and lets you skip the Ash St queue on Fri/Sat nights. Also means no cover charge, and you get invites to all the Ivy events, with free drinks etc..

I've been for a swim quite a few times, but not since it's been cold (though apparently they've heated it to 40degC now, so I might give it a go :)).

The changerooms and showers are very cool. :)

Cheers,
- Febs.

So Febs this raises several more questions for me, the most compelling of which is whether you have to be, um, "cut" to get a membership or can any old slob (not pointing fingers at anyone but myself here) pay a fee and enjoy the view? :)

I'd say "It's not what you know, it's who" but that sounds too wanky. :P

(You can't buy membership, though I've had people tell me they heard it was $20,000/year, which I found pretty amusing. :D)

Cheers,
- Febs.

Very cool place. Was there last week for business and yes, every secretary/attendant/PA/receptionist/etc is pure beauty.

Sounds similar to my Western Australian Club membership. You do pay a yearly amount, but need to be proposed and seconded into the club.

Slightly different I think. That sounds a bit like the Melbourne Club, University & Schools Club, American Club etc - old boys clubs with libraries, sedated bars and smoking rooms...something along those lines? (I'm a member of the Union, University & Schools Club in Sydney, and it's very much like that.)

Ivy Pool Club and Changeroom is a bar/nightclub at the top of Justin Hemmes' "Ivy" complex in Sydney, akin to the Mondrian Sky Bar in LA and New York rooftop bars. Ivy's a complex in the middle of the city with bars, restaurants, retail shops, a nightclub, function rooms etc...

Fairly young crowd, although there's an old bloke who's there all the time...word is he owns half the strip clubs in Sydney!

Cheers,
- Febs.

Ah! Yep, something like that. Although the cigar lounge is gone now as it's illegal to smoke indoors :(

The Melbourne equivalent would be Silk Road, Bar & Lounge on Collins St. Unfortunately the plebs can actually pay to join Silk Road, even though they say it'd be vetted by a committee etc. And if you're not from Melbourne, a good concierge can get you on to the door list anyway. Also a slightly older crowd here most times (think Supper Club), mid 20s to late 30s.

The only saving grace is that they do keep tabs on who's joining as some of the members only parties seem targetted, for instance I got invited to a Wayne Cooper launch and a few fashion week private after parties there but a friend who's also a member didn't get the same invites (it wasn't sitting in the spam folder either). Similarly I miss out on some pretty cool stuff from time to time though sometimes get in on the "and guest" provision. :p
