I have several thousand points with Eva Air, Star Alliance, can I transfer these for use on other Star Alliance member?

No. They can not be transferred. You should be able to book a *A flight with them, but that must be done through Eva.

Has anyone had success moving 5000 Krisflyer miles (earned from the promo of making a new account) to their Velocity account? Was able to successfully link the accounts but an error appears when I try to transfer.

is that promo still on? is it automatic or do you have to have a link or invite of sort?

Unfortunately that was a limited time promotion a few months ago.

Hopefully there will be another one sometime.

Since ANA is a Star Alliance member you can use KF points to travel SYD-NRT-SYD...They start flying here in December I believe.

Thanks. I guess that means I can't look at booking anything until at least then? Or would they be able to take bookings already? I should check myself...

Edit - found details of the service. Flies to Haneda which is a lot closer to town than Narita IIRC.
