Was on the 10am CNS to BNE flight. Was in row 3 along with 2 other passengers
(3 pax for 6 seats row 3 - 737-800)
No one was in J.
After takeoff, CSM mentioned that row 3 had less leg room than usual and that row 4 actually had the larger leg room (some anomaly on this particular 737-800),
and as such if we wanted to move into J then we could. Obviously all of us in row 3 took this opportunity, as well as a pax
Seated in row 4. The pax in other rows were moved into row 3.

I'm wondering if thats a new thing, to fill J if there's no one seted there, and if there was at least one pax in J, woud
tis have been offered?

Still had the snack only service but the J seat was welcome

I doubt they would offer it if there were other J pax in the cabin.

Reminds me of a similar experience though. Some routes don't have a J market and when they fly a 737 on one of those routes, rows 1 & 2 are available for free.

It doesn't come with the service of J, but the bigger seat and legroom is always appreciated.

BNE-ROK flights are economy only and status members can sit in the business class seats.

Same as Perth - Kal on the 737, only sold as econ but high status can choose business seats.
