Hi all,

Next Saturday, I am going to be travelling business class from Perth to Melbourne - the first time I have ever flown Business Class. What shall I expect on my flight back over - I have only flown Economy before and I am really looking forward to the experience :)

Once you've turned left, you'll never want to turn right again ;)

What aircraft type is it? You might be lucky and get an A330-300 with SkyBeds. Although lie flats aren't really necessary for a 4 hour flight!

Also, if a lunchtime or evening flight, you should get a nice meal and plenty of nice wine too.

Its on a 767, I am going to be leaving Perth at 15:35 and arrive in Melbourne at 21:05 - dinner flight!!!

In J you can use the airport Q lounge, it will be a larger seat on board with more room in front, the meal will be better and more crew per passenger, as said, once in J hard to go back.

Enjoy the experience. Once you have tasted it, hard to go to the back...
Dinner service would be good, get a forward seat, they seem to serve from the front (first choice on the offerings)

Unfortunately a left turn on a 763 will put you in the coughpit!! hahaha

as you are on a 763 there is no personal IFE, unless you score an international config.

However you should get a 3 course dinner with plenty of booze to help you along. I flew over in J to PER on Monday and had some great food. The lamb was quite night, but cooked a bit more than i like.

Don't forget as mentioned you get access to the Qantas Club before the flight.. always nicer to wait in there.

I've noticed a big change in the J service of late, especially on the PER run (probably due to the time length).

Is there a limit on the amount of alcohol I can drink? So I pass security and it's on the left?

no as long as you aren't a loud drunk or anything! i usually have several bourbons depending on timing. you wil go upstairs from security, walk towards the middle where the cafe and bar are and you will see an escalator going upstairs. there is a qantas club sign on it.

The other night returning to Perth from Brisbane in J, they ran out of Red wine and had to serve economy wine in business class

767 QANTAS DOMESTIC EXPERIENCE TO PERTH

Expect some snacks and drinks in the lounge (if you get to the airport early enough) and then to get on one of these

Onboard some drinks (continuing throughout the service) & nuts, then an entree (not pictured as it was soup) and main course.

Finally expect cheese or ice cream, and... should your flight attendants be slack, for them to disappear for the rest of your flight. Oh, and if your online seat map looks like the one below right, then expect an "international" configured aircraft with heaps of personal space (score!!!), but don't expect priority checked bags to come out first on arrival into Perth.

AND now that you know a little bit more about what you can expect, let's talk about what we can expect - A TRIP REPORT please. :D enjoy !

I sat in 5E on Tues night PER-BNE. The pax in the middle seats in row 5 seemed to be drinking Y red wine, although there Seemed to be two bottles of red available in J. I asked for the red with dinner, and was told there was a Leuwin Estate Shiraz IIRC. I was then very surprised to see two bottles of red on the dinner/drinks tray. Not a big deal, I'm not that much of a wine connossieur. Anyway, still thought it odd seeing the J pax with the mini Y red wine bottles. Perhaps becuase it was a different style of red??

For domestic J (unless you get lucky onto a Skybed1)... I would easily go back to Y. However with long haul J in real long haul J product, then that's when it will be hard to go back to Y.

NO this is very unusal as Red Wine in J is normally served by the bottle.

Perhaps another case where they had run out of Red Wine normally serve in J and the pax was given Y wine.
