Yes, thanks. The suggestions on this community for lounges to try have been great.

Have heard Al Safwa is pretty good...
I'm being picky but I'm not sure it's fair to call it a OneWorld lounge when OWEs aren't granted access unless they're flying QR F. I had to spend several hours slumming it in the Al Mourjan lounge back in July... Life is tough! :D

Ah. Didn't realise...that's a shame.

Very much a shame! I expected that they would want as many high status pax to visit their Flounge as possible as they attempt to compete with the (arguably better well known Emirates and Etihad).

I’ve got my first visit to HKG as a WP this coming December and can’t wait to visit the CX lounges. It’s a Sunday morning so hopefully it’ll be fairly quiet too!

It's a good thing I enjoyed eating a bit too much in the lounges (didn't eat all I wanted in the QF lounge as by the time you get to the third lounge it's easy to already be full) as my upgrade request was unsuccessful.

Still the shadow I got made it quite less uncomfortable a flight as far as Economy goes.

The service manager was very helpful and provided me with an eyeshade, toothbrush, toothpaste and socks. Whilst I missed the pyjamas, hot chocolate and lie flat seat one gets in Business, it was a good flight.

Well it can only go downhill from there.

Not really but you know what I mean! ;)

My only unsuccessful upgrade request (1 out of 4) has been as a WP.

Eyeshades/toothbrush/socks are usually free for every pax in Y aren't they?

remember you were the top
of the bottom and now with the next level
you are the bottom of higher up.

never stop climbing and never stop
feeling disappointed!!

Agree re the bus in Sydney. Its a real downer but obviously Sydney siders dont have to worry about that.

But what we do is fly in the night before; spend a nice evening at Rydges in anticipation, then wander over the road as early as possible for the full F lounge experience.

i would try the new Pullman instead.

Do you say that having stayed there? I have stayed there three times (admittedly on very cheap introductory rates), and was not impressed with the level of training. At what point can one stop attributing it to teething problems?

And then you get in a bus to the airport anyway.

My thoughts exactly; why on earth suggest the Pullman? I'm Accor Plat, as is a friend of mine. They were determined to stay at the Pullman recently, saying the initial abysmal Trip Advisor reviews must have perked things up. Nope; they came away very chastened and vowed never to stay there again.

Very happy with my own repeated choice of the Rydges .. a short stroll beats a bus trip any time.
