6.40 am flight Halifax to Vegas via Toronto, hop on the 5.00 am shuttle for the short ride to Halifax International.

Booked on a Delta ticket flying Westjet metal, I like Westjet, we had a number of flights with them last time we were here.

Arrive in Toronto with a 1hr 49 minute layover, on board for our return to the US, goodbye Canada till next time.

Las Vegas, from 16 degrees yesterday to 36 degrees today, yet another time zone. Was interesting watching from the air as the landscape changed from verdant green to a desert landscape.

Hop on the shuttle bus to pick up the car, lucky we booked and paid before leaving, look at the line up. We use the electronic check in, upstairs to pick up the car.

We had only ordered a small car, congratulations said the Alamo girl, you have an upgrade pointing at the only three cars in their lot, big choice here. The newest vehicle was already taken so I grabbed the better conditioned of the other two, some sort of Dodge, covered in scratches and dents.

No damage report card to worry about, pile in and we are on our way, destination the MGM Grand.

Neither of us are gamblers, the better half might put $10 in the pokies, however it seemed logical if you are doing a US tour, you have got to include Vegas.

Arrive at our destination, hmm where is the car park entrance, how BIG is this place. Work out where to drive in, remember where the car is parked and start the journey to check in.

They certainly like glitz here. The line was long but the service efficient, about twenty minutes to check in and arrive at our room, haven’t stayed in a hotel before that gives you a map of the hotel itself.

Bags deposited, let’s check out the lie of the land.

The next day our destination Hoover Dam.

For something that was built in the 1930,s without the aid of computers, pretty impressive. Couldn’t get into the full tour so we did the Turbine Room tour.

Was interested to hear how much of the USA has their water supplied from this source.

A few photos

irv I have just caught up with this TR after forgetting about it for a while. I note your comments about whether or not people find them interesting in general. Can I say this particular report is INCREDIBLE.
Love your pics and the associated information. Wonderful stuff.
I've never wanted to visit the US more than I do now having scrolled through your journey!

For our first night we wander down to Ka @ cirque du soleil, highly enjoyable, and on site. No photos, you get thrown in the fire pit

The next day is a do nothing, wander type day. I wandered around the resorts while she put her feet up, a few shots of the city

So we leave Vegas, on our way to Utah, first destination is Zion Canyon. Vegas was interesting, not really a place I would rush back to but each to there own.

From my research I knew we were heading to some interesting country, some road shots as we leave Nevada.
