I guess the biggest problem with these AirPasses - which has gone unmentioned - is that at the end of the day you're stuck flying AA.

I VERY much doubt that the unlimited AirPass would include partner airlines. If it did, AA would be in bankruptcy... oh wait... well, I doubt it did anyway.
It said one of the former users of it went to Sydney, so either AA actually flew the route in the past, or didn't and they codeshared.
