Points came in within a few weeks of meeting minimum purchase. Was going to hold the card until a bonus transfer offer was available and luckily received an email from Velocity this week offering a 15% transfer bonus.

Points transferred, card closed (nice girl on phone asking...."didn't you just open this last month?) and now just waiting for the right time to apply for my 5th NAB card in the last 12 months resulting in over 250,000 Velocity pts.......as I run to check the latest NAB Velocity offer. Surely NAB will soon put a limit on the time you wait till you open the next card and get bonus pts.

Hi woodyren, my bonus points have hit as well, and I'm in a similiar situation to you, two questions!

1) I got the same email re transfer bonus, however do you think this nab card is eligible? When I click through for the eligible cards - it appears as though it's only the velocity branded nab cards.

2) re cancelling: once I move my points out, if I cancel the card, are you then eligible to resign up again for the same card and thus get the bonus points again? I can't see anything about 12 month exclusion, however wasn't sure if I would get approved again for the same card in such a short time period

I had the same concerns but read the T&C's on the offer email. They state...

The 15% bonus Points offer is only available for Points transfers with ANZ Rewards accounts, ANZ Business Rewards accounts, CommBank Awards accounts, NAB Rewards accounts, HSBC Rewards accounts (Platinum and Premier credit card holders only), Citibank Citi Rewards accounts, Diners Club Reward accounts, Bank of Queensland Q Rewards accounts (Platinum credit card holders only), Suncorp Bank Rewards accounts, Card Services Rewards Accounts, Westpac Altitude Rewards accounts, St George Amplify accounts, BankSA Amplify accounts, Bank of Melbourne Amplify accounts and Australian American Express Card Members, including David Jones American Express Card Members enrolled in the Membership Rewards program (this offer excludes American Express New Zealand Card Members). Velocity members must transfer their credit card or charge card points between 25 March and 9 April 2017 to receive the 15% bonus Velocity Points. Bonus Velocity Points are calculated on the total number of Velocity Points when transferred to the Velocity Account. Bonus Velocity Points will be credited to the Velocity account 6 weeks from transfer date.

I will keep the email and produce it if they don't produce the 15% bonus because it mentions NAB rewards cards.

I wanted to shift the points quickly so I can cancel the card and sign up for another. That one will be my 5TH NAB bonus point offer card in a little over a year. Got points for the first 4. I guess that answers question 2.

Good spot re the nab rewards. Definitely think this card is now eligible for this promo.

Re cancelling, is your plan to cancel and sign up again for the exact same card? Or apply for a different NAB credit card?

Whichever one is giving the best bonus points value. I have had 3 x NAB Velocity and now this one so far. I am going on holidays for three months soon so might give my credit score a little breather and sign up when I return.

can you sign up to the same card and keep the old one, e.g. NAB rewards platinum or can you only have one?, also can you cancel before the bonus points come through if you have another one and/or apply for another one.

also im finding it hard to log into NAB rewards it says you have to log in via internet banking or NAB connect and when i log into internet banking it logs me into the normal internet banking and NAB rewards is still not logged it.

Why would you want to keep a card and get another the same? Bonus points are only available to new customers so I would say the answer is no.

I had the same problem trying to access NAB rewards site the other day when I wanted to transfer my points. I logged into internet banking and clicked on the rewards link which then told me I need to log into internet banking and it just kept taking me in circles. I put in a call but as it was a weekend they couldn't help. They promised to get the rewards people to contact me on Monday.

I tried a few hours later and the link worked fine and I dumped my points to Velocity.

So I have the nab velocity card which had the 60k or 80k velocity promo last year

I've now applied and been approved for the rewards platinum card with 80k nab rewards, but am concerned about the t and c s. My old nab velocity card fee is due in 7 days.

I was planning to cancel the nab velocity card, but the t and cs state

"Offer is not available when closing/transferring from another NAB credit card account "

I currently hold both cards. Do you think if I cancel the old card now, they will deny the sign on bonus due to how close it is? There's only 7 days from when I was approved for the new card and when I am planning to cancel the old card

Should I just eat the card fee on the old card for another 12 months and then cancel?

NAB(84K) 42K Velocity points + 15% Velocity bonus(Targeted Velocity email) transferred today ;)

Did not know bonus points were for only new customers, I didn't think NAB had a 12 months like Anz etc.

They don't. But you can't get the bonus points if you have an existing card. As long as you close your previous one you are good to go.

If you currently hold the rewards platinum (bonus points applied) and apply for the rewards classic card - no reason why you won't be eligible for the bonus points there? Given it's a different card.

I am on my third NAB card in 12 months and getting the sign on bonuses. When I ring up and speak to the cancellation department saying that I wish to cancel because there are better sign on bonuses elsewhere, both times they have advised me to keep the card open and apply for a new car and then cancel the card that I'm already holding.

I have found the cancellation department and very helpful when explaining the situation. I would tell them your position and they have the responsibility to make it work out to suit you.

They do not currently have a 12 month exclusion period. Cancel one card and then reapply for the next card and you are a new customer.

Does NAB have a max number of credit cards that can be held at any one time, like AMEX with max 2?

i tried applying when i had 2 last time (1 qantas 1 velocity) and got knocked back. i close 1 of the cards and waited 1month before applying again and got it approved pretty quickly.

I ended up calling to cancel my other card, and they ended up waiving the fee. So will keep the card for another 12 months then cancel

Please tell me were does NAB say this? I cant find it.

The only item I can see in the T&C for the bonus points offer, is that it is not available if you are transferring from another product.
