Now if you have a $30K 0% BT sitting in a card does this show on your credit rating?
Do they just check credit rating fine and not actually what owing on cards(0% for 12months)?
Filling out application "How much do you owe"? $0 or $30K?
Cancelling MAC card today :( as Annual fee coming up.....
Do they want payslips or group certificate on application?
Has that $65 fee request gone on application yet...as ment to be free?
At present comprehensive reporting not yet happening but when it comes they will be able to see your limit on a CC account not the balance. Of course they have occasionally asked to see statements but this is very unusual.

Do you think this is a better deal or for $95 the ANZ for 50000 points???

From a bonus point of view not a huge amount of difference (if you value a point at about a cent), I thinks it more about which card you would rather actually keep and use. I for one haven't really investigated that far.

What would you do if your plan was to not keep either card? As that is my plan.

If you already have a banking relationship with one of these would go with them (as there is a chance they wont go to Veda for bureau check). Aside from that pretty much toss a coin, maybe NAB as some seem to have had a few issues with ANZ and actually getting their points.

Oh ok. I will try and get the NAB then as a freebie. And maybe try my luck with ANZ after that? I have no banking relationship with either. Only have with Westpac and St George.....

Applied last night, wasn't approved straight away, got an email at 7am saying approved, went to the branch at lunchtime for ID check and cards will be with me next week :). Will only be using the AMEX @ 1.5pts per $

Applied and approved. I checked my credit score earlier in the day and figured I had a very good chance.

Now figuring out what the eligible purchase will be. :p

Hi RG1, what would you say would be the minimum Veda credit score you'd need to be approved if all other aspects are positive (earnings, assets, disposable income)

Thanks,
Jordan

My credit score is in the Good range (622-725). You can check yours at getcreditscore.com.au

I recently checked my Vedascore through the Citibank 'special offer' on their signature card ( I didn't apply, I just wanted to check my score without paying). I was on the upper end of 'average', probably due to all the recent card promotions. I already have the standard NAB Qantas card which earned 20k points and just got approved for the premium.

I might have to clear the decks a little before I have a crack at this one. I got the standard one recently (thanks for the 20,000 points, NAB), but only asked for a $2000 limit when I applied. When I later requested a limit increase, I got knocked back (I was only after it, since a big spend with QF was looking likely, and I could've raked in even more points).

When I checked my Veda score a few days ago, it was "Average", presumably as a result of jumping on the bonus point collection bandwagon a bit too often.

There really is no need to increase your credit limit - just transfer your funds into CC before spending - pts will still flow.

Funny you should say that, since I later did that to some degree...... unintentionally. There was a time when I only had one or two credit cards, and had memorised the numbers. I now have ten active, and I've given up trying. So by trying to take a shortcut and not have the statement in front of me, I managed to pay what was due on my NAB Velocity into my NAB Qantas. Fortunately I spotted it in time to make another payment (to the right card this time), and avoided any penalties.
