I got the whole Annual fee refunded, so definitely ask (nicely) and just push the point of 90 days plus (if you can). I did a feedback form response and highlighted all the trouble I had and it seemed to work, but remember to start off nice.

A positive thing is that I have now received my bank statement and it has credited the 115k (Although not appearing on Qantas yet).

For those who have had the annual fee, or half the annual fee refunded, did you request a refund when you filled out the feedback form or just set out everything that has happened and wait and see what they offered when they responded? I've phoned 9 times over the last couple of months and think that setting everything out is probably a better option now.

I had to ask for the refund, but this was after months of issues and phone calls. Initially I got a small amount back, but since it did drag on, I specifically asked for an annual fee refund since they still hadn't resolved the issue.

Edit: I went straight to the complaint department as I wasn't getting any results from the other areas.

Thanks Pcoder. When you went to the complaints department was this over the phone or online?

I tried both but I it would appear that the feedback form worked a bit better.

I submitted my request for a refund via secure message and it was accepted fairly easily and promptly. And my issues were pretty minor compared with yours Ken1. Good luck.

Thanks Pcoder and RoMambai. I've typed out what I'm going to submit but am still not sure whether to wait and see what response I get and if I eventually get the correct points posted before asking for anything like a fee reduction or extra points. (I don't know if NAB ever offer extra points as compensation for problems.) It's just so frustrating after having made so many phone calls and then finding that they say they have an incorrect QFF number, although they did post some of the points to my QFF account last month.

I have never had any problems with points posting from my ANZ or Westpac accounts. I closed the Westpac account earlier this year when they stopped Amex and still offered low QFF points. At least the ANZ Black and NAB Qantas Signature card offer 1 ppd.

My regular points earned for the July to August period has been missing (it's normally credited to Qantas by the 22/23rd of each month). Called up today and was told that there was some sort of technical issue and apparently they still don't know when it'll be fixed...

Hopeless.

Yeah, I have a similar issue with the points not being credit this week (Was expecting them to arrive early this week). They have appeared on my statement and I won't pressure them now as I just got the annual fee back.

I've received 3 statements so far. Points for the 2nd statement have credited but not the 1st or 3rd. 1st statement had the 115k on it. Rang yesterday and got the same 'technical issues we don't know when it will be fixed" line. Previously I was told there was some issue with a name mismatch against my QFF being the issue, NAB had used my middle initial as my surname.

Full annual fee refunded for me (after half previously). We'll see if the points arrive next month or not.. this is the first time I've not had my usual monthly points arrive.

For what its worth, they offered 5k points in compensation for not having the 115k in my account yet. Then transferred me to complaints. At that point I asked for the refund of the card fee. They called back the next day and told me they had some sort of system issue and offered me cash in lieu of points. They transferred $1500 into my CBA account and it arrived the next day.

Not bad really :)

Thanks for the advice all.

$1500 is pretty impressive.

It’s been weeks now and I haven’t heard back from my “what can we give you” email.

That's fair advice. But often the threat of FOS is better than the reality of using that option.

You're potential remedies decrease significantly in my experience if you end up going the FOS option.

The threat of FOS went nowhere.... ;)

There are threats and then there are threats!

It's all about how you make the initial approach. You need to pay very careful attention to the language you use and the approach must be in writing.

Also starting the FOS process, but not completing it can be useful.

I would advise as before, settle directly with the bank rather than FOS. You'll get a better and hopefully quicker result. FOS should only be your final option.

Dr, surely even you would take the $1,500 cash and run in that situation?
