Nabbed J-380 JASA :)

When booking my ASA (SYD-SIN-SYD) a few weeks ago I couln't find one JASA at the cheap point rate unless I went via, ADL or PER on clapped out dodgey angle seats....found plenty of FASA on the A380 so just booked that instead:mrgreen:

I wish I had the flexibility with my work just to up and leave with a few weeks notice as I too have seen a few great FASA's pop up at roughly T-2 weeks..... Unfortunately I'd have to construct a pretty amazing story for work to do that!

So it is long range forecasting for FASAs for me!

Maybe the trick is to book a JASA long in advance so you can get time off work, hope that the FASA pops up at T-2 weeks, and if it does then you can pull off the world's best value upgrade trick.

I've been tracking JASAs and FASAs MEL-LHR for some weeks, for several different periods, and the prices are astronomical for both J and F, with very few exceptions.

Will post here if I trip over anything useful but it's been discouraging, to say the least. Of course, have been trying options, such as SYD and Oz-SIN SIN-LHR etc etc. Still little to make the heart beat faster. ;)

There has been another annoying glitch in the process, too, that others may have noticed, although I haven't seen it reported. Using the "Flexible with dates" option, which brings up the 14 days table, then selecting 'next 14 days' or previous 14 days, then brings up only a set of seven days. Going on to the next set then skips a week. Does not happen on every search but often enough to be very irritating. Can be overcome by changing the dates in the left side panel but .... Too many glitches.

Good idea! Find JASAs at good value fairly easily actually.

Has anyone noticed at T-24/72 hours classic inventory opens up significantly on QF international flights? Haven't always seen that translate directly into value FASA or JASA though.

Just managed to nab A380 in J for HKG-SYD (was previously on QF88)...extremely happy:p:p:p

Goes without saying right? Wouldn't be trumpeting the fact I paid a million points for a JASA lol

Nope. ;)
I know people that pay up ~150-200k for a JASA and don't blink an eye lid...
I really thought that this thread was about getting lucky in nabbing a JASA on a sector where they are extremely rare.

Anyways, enjoy the flight yohy?!

Indeed! The point of this thread is surely getting an international JASA at (or even below) the equivalent classic award level. This can be quite tricky but when you can find one it is extremely good value.

In contrast, the 1 million point JASAs are terrible value and I doubt anyone on AFF uses them much (or at all).

Yes, sure have.

This is the only way we have been able to secure 4 (5 when the MIL tags along) seats in a good cabin for the family trips. However, they are mostly on CX or BA......If I only learnt to plan ahead!
