That seemed to be the rationale at a recent Qld resort stay. Unless we took the bottles away they were not replaced. First time, the bottle had a tiny bit left but not enough for a full wash. It wasn't replaced so we had to chase some down. So remove them each morning.

My other half insists on hiding half used bottles so she can get a new one every day. And then add the hoard to the collection at home.

It the domestic collection (hoard) of lotions and potions that gets added to. Not the same as the Bondi hoarders but when my shaver can't get a spot it's a problem.
 
Aesop is quite a soigne brand, so I'd imagine you'd be chased after if you tried to make off with those!
