I got offered a neighbour free seat. Is it worth paying $225 for it? Or does it mean the flight is likely empty? We are on sale economy and usually, as it is "cheap" (at $2300 from bne to bs as) i am not allowed to upgrade so it is not a terrible option...this is the long leg, SYD-SCL.
Just would like to know if this is offered because the plane may not be very full so they want to guarantee more money as the seat is empty anyway. We are two people, my son and I, and are sitting one of last rows and apart from the extra legroom options in row 40, all seats appear taken. We fly this Monday 10th.
I'd rather get that offered on return cos the flight is longer and layovers are also longer, but who knows, the might too. Thanks!
Edit: aircraft is a Boeing 787-9 and map shows row 44 are next to the toilets, so maybe not such a great idea.
Is extra legroom in row 40 worth it? Or is it where babies usually seat?
