Can you keep the same card number if you apply for one with a chip? When the strip at the back of the titanium cards wear out and they issue a replacement it always has a different number.

My understanding is that they always generate a new number for a replacement card unless the card being replaced has expired. That's why I have a chip on my a/c card as it expired and they sent me a card with a chip, but not on my main card as I don't want a new number unnecessarily.

Sometime last year in Europe I checked into a small hotel and the owner said, oh I have a centurion card too. He was very proud that he was one of the first people in his country to get one. Then he continued that they are so insecure and that I need one with a chip as they are so much better.
I then showed him my second titanium centurion card with the chip and he couldn't believe his eyes how I could possibly have two centurion cards :)

I'd like a chipped Titanium card. I've had the strip wear out on three cards so far. I think it would give a little better card life, not too mention the higher level of security.

I've had the chip and pin cent card (titanium) for about 6 months now - works in about 80% on chip and pin the rest you have to swipe and pin, but like you say excellent especially in Europe.

We just leased some major cookware and coffee machinery for our business and Flexi Commercial actually accept Amex. 1.00% Surcharge but it was 1.00% for Visa or MasterCard which don't have the same points return. The Amex rep didn't promote them because they surcharge - supposedly they don't push any company if they surcharge but now we get more points. We have almost all bills now running via the charge card. And there wasn't a difference in the leasing cost. We double checked after reading this thread.
