Ewwww. So that's the ADL Chairman's Lounge? Faux wood-grain vinyl / Laminex? I thought they had a uniform theme of olivey-green. Maybe they stripped it in readiness for the WPs.

Both BNE and MEL don't have the green theme. They are each different.

Not all are the same. I'm no expert, but I have seen photos of MEL where it's quite contemporary and BNE where after the reno it's quite swish. I recall BNE before the reno was a shoebox. IIRC SYD is the same as either PER or CBR or both?

Well since that is NOT the ADL CL anymore the comparisions probably should wait til the new CL space is available(if not already) and someone spills images. And no doubt this current space will get a makeover in line with the concept art.

For my POV, it's great the work is finally starting! Clearly lots of disruption to come as the area is done in stages, so I am not judging on interim options.

The opposite happened yesterday morning at 6am, it was quite full. The staff told me it’s only interim and they’re still upgrading the area. I certainly hope so as the currently food offering is worse than QC. Hope there’ll be a hot food speciality booth like the ones in Per/Mel/Bne.

Except now it’s way better than the current QP offerings.

It’s been quite some time since I’ve visited the ADL CL as a guest but the decor looks the same and I wouldn’t be surprised if it hasn’t had a refresh for many years

Old BNE CL was in the old-old QP, overlooking the check-in area, separate to the current lounge complex. It was, indeed a dimly-lit shoebox.

PER is styled very similarly to both CBR and SYD (think QF-F with more olive green seats/panels).

Drinks aside, I couldn’t see anything special except for the croissants? Plus to get the barista coffee you’ll have wander out of the J lounge to where they’ve set up the takeaway station. Anyway, as they said, they’re still improving so I’m still hoping it’ll end up having more options inc the chef station or whatever they call it. I did noticed a few unhappy CL people though who had to temporarily share the same lounge, not sure how long for.
