New Adelaide Qantas Club & Business Lounge

Italian makes a lot of sense for Adelaide. The problem I see is that I have little faith it will be implemented well. Put up a paltry effort and every Italian mama in Adelaide will be assaulting the lounge staff with wooden spoons, and it will be deserved.

Lasagne sounds great until you realise everyone will take the edge pieces first (or pass up the tray until a new one comes out with edge pieces), plus I have little faith in people to actually dish up a block of lasagne (let alone a scoop) neatly. It's gonna look like a dog's breakfast (or what it ate, but thrown up) very quickly. Taking a step back, if the lounge doesn't bother to make a good lasagne al forno in house and just get a mass catered one... I'm sure we've had enough of those, and they are horrid (the sugo is tasteless, the cheese is cheap and there's hardly any meat).
The presumption for say lasagne is it’s behind the counter and you get a portion served by staff (same as MEL).
Some quality antipasti, served with charred Italian bread, would be a winner, but it has to be good quality stuff, i.e. not just Don salami which you get at the supermarket.
But conceptionaly a sound idea.
Tuna or fish might be offered as plates of the day. I wouldn't go down the sushi path as that's likely to be mass made and horrible.
Not if it’s made as they go….

They occasionally serve lasagna from the Brisbane 'cantina' bar, has been imo one of the better meals.
Yeah, but I always get disappointed that the Cantina doesn't have the band.

Hasn’t been the Cantina since 2019.

It’s now “The Oven” and lost all its Mexican theming.

If they are or were going to open in the next few days or weeks, the hoarding would have been taken down by now (eh ?), and they would put that black x fencing thing up, as they have got for the shops in the international departures side of ADL airport, when there are no international flights, you know, the black x fencing thing.
But what do I know, all I did was take the pix.
Flew ADL - MEL with VA, so didnt use the QP this trip, flew MEL - ADL with QF, as in the MEL J lounge pix on the other sub site, and the inflight J meal of Ploughmans Snack, ...

Still closed off as of now.
That is just the small section where the old entrance was. That is being turned into more space in the QP.

The new entrance is to the left of your pic. Timber desk with entrances to J and QP off to each side. There are just some planter boxes blocking off the the J lounge.

So J might open soon, but probably a bit longer to complete the final QP (taking over the old entrance space)
I seem to recall that may have happened in MEL, once the J lounge opened QF when to work on fixing the QP area that had been the temporary entrance to the old J lounge.
