haven't seen this mentioned, but a quirk on my Windows 10 laptop (using chrome) is that if the page is scrolled up so that you can't see the column headings (below), you can't click on the first thread under the blue menu bar:

But if you scroll the page back slightly (as below) then you can now click on that first thread:

Probably to do with an invisible element taking up more space than expected, however I just tried the same thing on a 13" MacBook Pro with Touchbar and did not encounter the same difficulties.

That's ok, now that I know what is happening its not a problem - just thought I would pass it on in case others encountered it.

Starting to see a lot of weird broken images, eg:

I had a look at my browser's console and it's requesting content over http from affkeycdn-9918.kxcdn.com - which is blocked by the browser as I'm viewing the forum over https. Even if I go to the URL manually it presents a 404, so worth looking into.

I think the end of page displays are a work in progress. I agree that some of the avatar images appear to be broken at the moment. They were working in the end of page image a few hours ago. A few hours before that the images were appearing as a very pretty 3D ball which rotated when clicked on.

We do use a CDN to serve up content quicker, however the section at the bottom of threads is new so I’m guessing data still needs to be cached? Something like that.

Perhaps it doesn’t play nicely with the CDN. It shall be looked into but thanks for bringing it to our attention.

It's even more broken now than it was a few minutes ago. As far as I can tell, everyone who has a custom avatar is showing as a broken link. A few minutes ago it was only some of them.

EDIT: Okay, now after that refresh of the page it's back to half working avatars and half broken avatars.

What's CDN?

Ok, I don't know either. :)

A Content Delivery Network stores copies of AFF files in multiple locations so when you connect from a different point (such as when travelling) you always load from the quickest (closest) source. Compare this with how we previously ran the website with only one server serving content.

Ah, does that mean we should get fewer 'server Time outs' when loading images, say, from a place far away from Oz?

Should be OK now. Yes it was a CDN problem, which has now been resolved. Apologies for that.

Does the whole Users Who Have Viewed section at the bottom actually have a value? Avatars are not much use without a name and I'm not sure why it needs to be displayed what threads you've read for other users?

Just curious about robe purpose given how much real estate it takes up on a page.

When I place my mouse over the avatars I can see the user name, even with the generic avatar. I guess this will display differently on different browsers.

As the Xenforo update is no longer "new" this thread is now being closed. If you have a particular issue, please start or reply to an existing thread on your subject in the Suggestions and Feedback forum.
