New Altitude Black has landed...

Excellent. Just warehouse the points in Altitude until needed. At that time it will only take a day or two to transfer to Enrich. Also good for Singapore Kris, Virgin Velocity, AirNZ, Cathay Asia Miles.

Or as MH seem to regularly offer transfer bonus, move points when that occurs.

Great advice, thanks Prozac and LTOz, unfortunately I missed out on the double points offer that finished on the 22nd. I asked if they would extend that offer to me but to no avail. I will keep my eye out for the next offer though!!!

Has anyone had any luck with getting the priority pass bonus offer? If so, how do you get them?

What are everyone's thoughts on this card for MH earn in particular?
excellent. , hardly ever have a problem redeeming J seats. also keep an eye out in Nov/Dec for 1/2 price points redemption specials

Although the 'half price' is a bit misleading. It's only a small saving for trips to Europe, much closer to half price for trips to Asia ex Australia

Hi, I applied and got the Westpac Altitude Black under the promotion for double bonus points and 0% interest on purchases for 12 months. After a difficult time activating it and spending much time on the phone with various customer relations officer, I have started to use the card (some CRO say no bonus, another say yes, suffice to say very frustrating).
Got the first statement today. No sign of bonus points, but I'm hoping this will revert in due course.

My question is regards the 0% interest on purchase. Do I still need to pay the minimum amount by statement due date or do I wait for 12 months? If I max out the card (got $30,000 credit limit), will the minimum payment reduce this and thus I can use the card again?

Did I understood the recent double bonus points promotion wrong? If I spend $1 using amex, I should get 3 points, and with the bonus means 6 points. For mastercard, $1 will get 1.25 points thus supposely 2.5 with bonus. However, just received my statement and it showed - amex $1 get 3 points, double points bonus is $1x1=1. So total 4 points and not 6. For mastercard I get $1 = 1.25 points plus $1x1, total 2.25 points and not 2.5.

Doesn't look like a "double points" promotion to me. Seems like they are just giving whatever spent as a bonus on top of the usual 3x or 1.25x.

So looks like I misunderstood the promotion?

They're going to be crediting the bonus points at the end of the promotion.

They're going to be crediting the bonus points at the end of the promotion.

So what is the bonus points in my statement means? Just as an example:
Spent $300 (amex), Rate = 3.0, Points = 900, Bonus Points = 0.
and the next line, Double Points Promotion, Rate = 2.0, Points = 0, Bonus Points = 300
Total I got 1200 points.
Note that in the Double Points Promotion the rate was 2.0 yet it doesn't tally with the bonus points given (300 instead of 600) Seems like they only give 1 point for the total spent and consider that as "Double Points Promotion".

Hi,

I've re-read your post. What statement have you received? From memory, the regular Altitude monthly card statements only show points totals and don't break it down into detail. When I've logged onto www.altituderewards.com.au I have been able to get the detail via the "Rewards account" tab. Mine doesn't show any bonus points unless I've shopped at a bonus partner - for example (for my AMEX Charges as haven't used the MasterCard):

I had been informed the double points will be awarded separately at the end of the promotion (was also on the website).

Perhaps if you post the statement you've received with your details blanked out?

Albyd.

Westpac call ctr advised me bonus pts will post as block at end first statement period post expiration of your 3 mth bonus period.

I'm still a few weeks away from the end of the first post promotion statement period so that might explain it. Anyone else had theirs post already? Have you got what you were expecting?

I'm not sure how to post my statement. But looking at yours, mine is exactly the same except the will be another row:
Date/Double Points Promotion/amount (total spent)/rate 2.0/points 0/ bonus points (total spent).

The total spent is not double but just the dollar amount i spent

Good idea to use the iPhone screen shot function. That does look odd.

Guys these are 'Bonus Pts' that just the normal monthly from Bonus Pts Partners - not the 2 x Bonus pts for promotion.

I posted about this last month, think most missed my post(http://www.australianfrequentflyer....de-black-has-landed-49447-18.html#post1071582). From the double points for 3 months promotion, I've had my first month's bonus points post already, and just recently had my second month's bonus points post.

In my online rewards statement it posted like so:
Date, Description, Spend($), Earn Rate, Points, BONUS Points
dd/mm/yy, DOUBLE POINTS PROMOTION, xx_,xx_.00, 2.00, 0.00, xx_,xx_.00

Westpac call ctr advised me bonus pts will post as block at end first statement period post expiration of your 3 mth bonus period.

Probably another case of left hand not knowing what right hand is doing again as mine have already posted and my 3 month bonus period hasn't finished yet.

Yes I saw your post and thought that weird as it is contrary to what I was told prior to getting card and again when checking expiration date of bonus period - but either way as long as all bonus pts post I guess timing not that important unless you require them urgently of course.

timing not that important unless you require them urgently of course.

Nah, not urgent at all. I'm more concerned from a timing point of view of when they start the 3 month period from, as the promotion explicitly stated 3 months from card activation and I know some people delayed activating their cards until they needed it. I have no confidence in what the call center person said that they'll count it from when the first transaction posts because they also said the first bonus points will all post after the 3 month period, and seeing as that part is wrong already, I have no faith in the first part regarding when the bonus point period starts.
