Went on a giftcard buying spree last night..picked up jb cards at woolies for a new laptop and headed next door to dan murpheys to grab 3X $50 cards to get the statement credit...still giving 2ppd at Dan Murpheys. Email received instantly

I haven't received my $30 statement credit. Why is that? Transaction was with DJs online (via Qantas Mall). shows up on statement as Paypal David Jones - is it paypal that caused a problem?

If so, who should I complain to? I used a Plat Charge Card.

I think using paypal may have been the problem. Double check the T&Cs.

Having completed 4 targeted spends this month, only 1 credited automatically. Shame because until this month Amex credits were very reliable.

You can follow up through Amex 'contact us' form after logging-in to online banking.

Has anyone had the statement credit reversed after returning something (in this case to DJ).
I received my credit on 30 December,
and the return will be in a different statement cycle.
Can DJ do a return on a gift card so i don't lose out ?

You can certainly ask but everytime we have returned anything to DJs they always want to refund us in the same way that we originally paid.

99% it won't matter anyway, I'd try it and let us know. Other refunds I've had have not changed the credit.

I have returned an item bought under the scheme and not had the statement credit affected.

Thank you for all the replies and advice.
Will update with how I go with the return.
I feel quite optimistic now.
Cheers!

Don't know about DJ but with the recent Dan Murphy's promo, bought 2x $50 gift cards they went through OK then made the 3rd purchase online, got my credit but Dan Murphy's had to refund that transaction as they ran out of stock. The $50 credit got deducted fairly quickly too. Taught me a lesson not to be lazy, make all purchases as gift cards then buy the stuff you want.

what a lot of boring old offers there are at present
come on AMEX give us the Moet deal or the Dan deal again!!!!

There must be something on I didn't know about because I just got $10 statement credit from American Express. It seems to have been triggered by a spend in Sydney over the long weekend..... No idea what for though as I haven't registered for anything recently.
