New Amex statement credits

OzBargain run a business, they need subscribers and have competition from similar sites. If they won't publish those deals someone else will do it for profit.
You may call it greed but it's simply their business.
Greed is where the discussion on an open forum turns to how to purchase VPay vouchers on 8 different Amex cards, transfer funds to reloadable Coles Mastercards and withdraw cash. Sorry but that's not just exploiting the promotion but gross abuse.

All details were first available on OzBargain. As with any good loophole, one must be fast to react to get it.

Absolutely. This isn't the first time there has been such an opportunity and it wont be the last either. If you want to take advantage you need to act straight away, not complain after the opportunity has been closed.

I absolutely encourage people to continue to post information about these types of gaps in the system. It is certainly not greedy to take advantage of such an opportunity to its full value.

Not sure how buying these vpay cards is going to spoil it for anyone. I used my 3 Amex cards to buy 3 lots of Vpays and will use that to buy something somewhere. I took a gamble and if I dont get the rebate no biggie, il spend the $900 on groceries or something else.

Completely agree. There should be no suggestion of moral turpitude in your behaviour.

Agree but methods dont need to be repeated ad nauseam when all the info is already there (as in your own very informative post). OK to ask questions such as the multiple email issue and report difficulties but this can be done without bringing the house down

Well, I haven't followed it on OzB but I'm trying to register my first vpay card and getting an error message.

Glad I didn't buy three.

In general terms, sometimes the number zero and letter Oscar can be mixed up. ;)

Didn't have any issue buying today, the Amex email "thankyou for spending at HN" arrived promptly. Let's see how long the credit takes to appear on a bank issued Amex.

Swapping to an O gives me "incorrect voucher code". current error i have is "sequence contains no elements".

Just received my additional Charge card in post and interested to see that I was still able to subscribe to the HN offer

For the Hilton offer spend $300 and get $150 back, has anybody tried buying vouchers from here Hilton Melbourne
Did it trigger it?
Any ideas on the best way to book 3 nights for 2 adults and 2 kids ? it comes to about 550-650 on the net , but you need to pay in one lump sum. I am thinking of calling them to book over the phone and then maybe they can split payments? If not maybe I can buy gift cards over the phone, and then use them to pay for the accommodation? Any other ideas?
cheers

I don't think it works over the phone. I read somewhere about going to your local hotel reception in person to buy gift cards so that you are charged from the hotel reception directly.

What I did is book a room online then order GC over the phone, pay for it at check in and later use it to pay for the room, keeping the balance for future stays.

Doh, I'm located in Canberra. How would you use the vouchers to pay for the room? I can only input credit card details into the website when it comes to payment?

edit: i'm staying next year so need to pay for it before December runs out :-)

Re HN
Purchased vpay gcs on Friday - credits posted this am no problems. For people concerned re triggering emails or not, and then subsequent eligibility - not all spend triggered emails yet all credits posted fine

Re Hilton
Used offer over the weekend, paid direct at hotel on check out, split across 3xcards no problems at all. Only 1x email triggered. Will confirm when credits post.
