New Amex statement credits

Just made two 1 night bookings at Hilton melbourne, fully prepaid. No statement credit emails. Eeeek!
I know prepaid stays was against the terms of the offer, but I thought others had luck receiving credits back for prepaid stays?

As long as the payment is processed in time you'll be fine.

I thought Hilton offer ends on the 31st
if it goes through tomorrow should be all good.

You should be fine, last time I've booked on the last day at 1pm and was processed the following day

Hopefully this time I won't get caught out again, just booked my stay for the Rockford meet...

With any luck we'll both be OK. ;) <crosses fingers>

Just call and ask them to put the payment through. They told me they they dont process prepaid bookings until the month before the stay so I wouldnt count on it happening on its own.

Did you call them or it just happened by itself?
Emailed the hotel last night, and it just happened this morning. Very happy of course.
Hopefully yours comes through also.

I had considered ringing the hotel and asking for a hold on my credit cards (if they didn't want to charge them yet) as I know a hold of over $300 would also trigger the credit also. It happened for me on a previous hotel stay in November - On that occasion I even considered paying on a different card to the one which had the hold placed on it just to see if the credit would be revoked once the hold was removed (but my conscious got the better of me and I paid with the same card)

That's great news. I cant see why any hotel wouldnt want to have the money in advance, its a win for them (and for us).

Got charged and email received. Then figured out it was cheaper to book through Amex travel and use the $50 credit offer....

I find that difficult to believe. I have given up trying to make use of the Amex travel offer.

Voyages Ayers Rock Resort
Spend $250 or more, get $50 back

There has obviously been a big change in policy at Amex for 2017. Six weeks into 2017 and only one good offer (DM) and one reasonable offer (Amex travel) so far. Some weeks have had no offers at all.

I paid my annual fee for the Edge last week (as I can still get the free VA flight on that until March) but it looks like all other cards may need to be cancelled as the annual fees become due.
