New Amex statement credits

Popped in to Bob Jane today to have 2 of the 4 tyres fitted bought with Amex 400/125 SC, stacked on BJ price match, stacked on Michelin $50 cashback for 4 tyres. Result $210 tyre for $93ea.
Back to the story, BJ had sold my tyres (Michelin Pilotsport 3). "Would it be alright if we fit the new model Pliotsport 4"...yeah orright.
I can't believe this just keeps getting better. :)

I'm not sure if I'm more impressed with the PS4's or the deal! :D

Although most of the hotels on the Amex travel website are a little expensive versus what can be obtained on the Expedia and/or Priceline group websites (particularly with member pricing and rebates etc), I have found a hidden gem or two for some upcoming travel which Amex travel had less than I could get elsewhere (rebates included), 'free cancellation' and the $50 statement credits were a nice cherry on top. An extra 1MR/$ spent also.

Just watch the $55 Amex cancellation fee on hotel bookings that have 'free cancellation' however. Got stung on this on a past booking.

Agreed, I have no hotel status so for me the travel credit allowed me to stay somewhere special for an anniversary trip, I have booked the Ritz in HKG (world's tallest hotel) using the travel credit and statement credit made it affordable, also couldn't really find the hotel cheaper elsewhere

I got the DM rebate for all transactions in Jan17, Feb16, Mar16' Oct16.

Interestingly I got a varied 3% and 6% rebate in 2016 (even those minutes apart) where they have all been 3.5% in 2017.

This time around the Cashrewards cashback applied on all DM Vouhjers purchased. Last time nil. Go figure....

Mine show on cashrewards as well. But that doesn't mean that they will be paid.

I booked a Peppers resort for which there isn't a meaningful loylaty scheme. Price was the same as direct so booking via Amex saved me $350. I made sure Mrs_O was comitted to the dates though because at $33pp for a change and $50pp to cancel, I didn't want to be doing either.

OT: Be sure to head up to Ozone, the bar in the Ritz-Carlton, and watch the laser show one night.

Is that from last year or is there another Bob promo? Been running PS3 on various cars and was blown away when I gradually replace them with PS4. Absolutely loved mine, certainly a far better experience than my set of ContiSportContact 5P on another car. I'd even replace the CSC5p with PS4 only if they come in my size :(

Apologies I neglected to mention it was the Amex/Bob promo from December.
Bob Jane indicated the tyres would be ok in the rack, knowing I was coming in in the New Year to get the fronts replaced. January came and went. When I finally got round to calling they realised their oops but happy to replace with the new model.

The car is front wheel drive so happy with the old tyres remaining on the rear. Now running higher pressures to prevent the tyre rolling the edge.
Again the franchise owner at Brookie, Grant, is a good bloke to deal with.

Good to hear your vote of confidence in the newer model. Interesting how some tyres work better on some vehicles than others. On my motorbike I really like the Continental Trail Attack, yet other riders hate them on different models of the same brand. Maybe they are simply not running the right pressures.

Thank you :)

My local BP outlets are usually about the same price as the WW Caltex and usually cheaper than Shell, so it's a good excuse to go there instead.

I noticed that this BP offer mentions several locations (assume it's tailored to where you live). Will the offer be for only those locations or for any BP? Doesn't seem to mention in the full terms so assuming any location?
