New Amex statement credits

With regards to the DJ Online offer:

DAVID JONES ONLINE
Spend $200 or more, get $40 back

Anyone have any experience if this is strictly online only, or will the statement credit work if purchased in store too?

Thanks

My wife inadvertently found a way around this problem:

1). She ordered some clothes online costing $200+.

2). Clothes delivered.

3). She didn't like the fit so took them back to a store.

4). Store gave her a refund as DJ gift card (this maintained the Amex credit as no refund through Amex).

5). She bought clothes that she was happy with with the gift card.

Mrs_O is all over that trick. Not really problem though as ultimately the minimum spend was still made albeit at a later date.

Isn't it easier just to buy a gift card plus something cheap just to get around the shipping?

I shopped at Woolworths this morning, using my CBA Amex which I'd registered for the offer - there'd been a number of comments on Ozbargain that people using Paywave/Paypass (as I usually do) weren't receiving emails from Amex, so just out of curiosity, I inserted the card and used chip/PIN instead this time, and I received the Amex email almost immediately.

I used PIN on 2 of 4 cards used but still have not got the email.
