New Amex statement credits

You appear to have misread my post. In post #5974 youstated ' Click a button, the attendant activated the pump, put the fuel in, click a button, away you go'. This is not correct.

You might want to read some of the comments here:

AmEx Statement Offer: BPme Spend $40, Get $10 Back up to 2 Times

Around 80% of the comments suggest that the app is painful and difficult to use.

No I don’t think I misread it at all. You posted more detailed instructions. Thanks, I’ll be more pedantic with my explanations next time. :)

As I said, I had no issues whatsoever with filling up with the app in the maybe 10 times I used it when it first appeared on AMEX. Not sure why people had trouble. If that’s the case then sure, maybe they need to improve it.

Used it last time but thought it was slow and painful. Sitting in my car and waiting instead of getting on with it while others queued to use pumps.

Don't think I will bother this time.
Closest BP is Redfern where the prices are dearer than other closer service stations.

I have a small car, low usage. Tank can't hold $40 from the cheaper stations, although it might at BP Redfern prices. I would have to go there a couple of times over the offer period to save a few dollars.

Edit
price for unleaded today. 157.9 at BP Redfern, 135.9 at Metro Fuel Alexandria

The app is just slow to launch and get to the point of pumping fuel. Rates rather poorly 2.1 stars on Google Play.

I disagree. In December 2017, it was spend $20 for a $10 credit.

The last offer was in April / May 2018. Perhaps you missed it or weren't targetted. I only got it on the cards that I had not used in the Dec 2017 offer on. This time I have the offer on all my cards.

Definitely didn't miss it so must not have been targetted to me. I used the December 2017 offer on all of my cards which may explain the lack of offer for me earlier this year.

My experience last time was that the stations vary.

Two worked fine.

A third that they had on their list, actually did not actually have the technology installed and so payment was not possible.

The last time I used the app I waited way too long for it to close off the transaction, and I wasnt game to drive off before it did in case they thought I was stealing petrol.

Seem to be very popular offer , 30,000 registration have been reached under 24 hours .

My only complain is lack of velocity bonus points via BPme app

Played the Kitchen Warehouse offer like a fiddle. Added enough to my cart to use both a $20 discount code and get the Amex cash back, with cash rewards to boot.

Is the discount code targetted or general? If the latter, can you share it please?

Here's the OZB discussion on the April/May 2018 offer which was 40/10. I wasn't targetted so paid no attention.

AmEx Statement Credit: BPme (Spend $40 or More, Get $10 Back)

Not as good as 20/10 that was open to all in Dec 2017 (well...duh!) but it can't be all bad because the max registrations has been reached within a day. Not bad for an offer that can't be used for Opal top-ups or gamed for cash (can it??)

Some more offers;

Farfetch - 300 / 60
Clinique Online - 120 / 20
Get Wines direct - 120 / 40
The Iconic - 7 points per $1 spent

Get Wines direct - 120 / 40

I used this offer the last time it appeared, and got a $60 "mixed dozen" in addition to a few more expensive bottles of wine
I have to say these (after the discount) $3.33 bottles were surprisingly good!

And the offer is now "Spend $150, get $50 back" on my Explorer card, and "Spend $120, get $40 back" on Platinum Edge.

Thanks for the prompt on Get Wines Direct-Mrs RB has a few favourites from there

Given the Amex sale fares are accessed via a link, I think not. May also mean the Amex offer is not an additional 12% off best Agoda price

Edit: the link doesnt seen to be Amex-specific so ignore above-may well stack
My experience with these Agoda offers are the rates are usually higher and even then it's not a true 12% off as the discount doesn't include taxes.
