New Amex statement credits

Anyone still got the Hilton PAY $400 GET$80 back on their card(s). I'd be grateful if you could check the terms. I thought I recalled it applying once at up to 5 hotels. But it has disappeared off my cards after one use each. Or am I deluding?

I believe you confused it with the Shangrila offer which can be used to get back up to 5 credit

It's certainly convoluted:

Don't get me wrong....Shop Small saves $$ but I'm finding it increasingly tedious running around using them up! My favourite Asian Grocery store in Sydney, Tong Li is not participating this year. Last year I bought stacks of $20 GCs... :(

Is the spreadsheet with all the available shops listed, as per previous years, floating around anywhere?

I haven't seen it on OzBargain yet. Probably soon.

This is the number 1 AMEX deal that I will miss this year because I no longer have any AMEX cards.

I never, though, found it 'tedious' to save 50% off my purchases. A spreadsheet and thorough planning are the keys to maximising this promotion.

I do miss my 100+ purchases at 50% off :( But moving back to non AMEX cards for 18 months has been something that I definitely don't regret and would do again.

Well, technically, $10*5*x (x = number of cards). I'm lucky I work close to a whole bunch of great eateries that do Shop Small but if I were somewhere where there is a dearth of such locations, my economics hat would be telling me to allocate my time to things with far greater utility than a few lots of $50 savings.

I of course say this with the context of knowing friends who (perhaps because they really don't have a superior perceived opportunity on which to spend their time) live 40km+ from the CBD and yet have joked to me 'CBD? I only go there when Shop Small is on'. Right...

I guess, like some other deals, this one has been kpc'd :)

What makes it a great promo, a fun one even, is getting those savings on everyday items, as the opportunity to do so present themselves less and less these days.

Seems to appear that if you save to one card under your profile it automatically saves to all cards on your profile, unsure if it applies to supps on a seperate login

Actually, I take this back. Restarted the app, and had to resave offer to two of the cards that appeared to have saved this morning but didn't hold. Had to restart app each time, all cards now have offer saved :)

Yes, I found that as soon as I activated it for one card in the app, it disappeared for the others. I needed to log out and back in again each time to activate for all cards.
But I logged in for my wife on the website to activate hers, and they serially activated within a single session as normal.

The AMEX page states that it is only valid for the card details entered above - all supplementary and other cards need to be entered individually.

That is what it states but the reality may be very different given past AMEX T&Cs and the real world outcome being vastly different.

Can we buy HN gift cards online and receive the Amex cash back? runs out today and I can't get what I want online and pay with two cards

Clive

Excuse the noob question but this is the first time in a few years I have participated in this. Can supplementary cards be registered and do they receive credits separately (or is it only the primary card)? Really what I am asking is can we shop at the same place twice using primary and supplementary and receive 2 $10 credits or only 1?

You need to register both cards through their individual log ins.
Then you can use each of the cards at 5 different participating shops.
So yes, you can get $10 credit on each card at same place.

Gotta love Amex. Just signed up a dozen Amexes for Shop Small. This months statement shows $$ back from HN, Jaycar and Hertz.

Last month pocketed 2 sets of sign on bonuses for the Westpac Altitude Amex for me and one bonus for the wife on the Westpac Amex too.

Meanwhile the Edge/Explorer combo just keeps earning the spend points at 2 to 4 MR points per $ (depending where you spend).

Now I mainly have Amexes for the points, but the $thousands you earn per year in cashbacks is sweet as well ;) With the travel credits the cards are basically free (The Westpac Amexes were free). Who said that there is no such thing as a free lunch?

You can, but sometimes the sale will be blocked.

Can definitely register supplementary cards if they have different number to the primary - in the past not all have had separate numbers.

Once registered every card has the full 5 purchases.

I remember people saying that they had 20+ cards so when it used to be 10 purchases per card then it was 200+ separate purchases.
