New Amex statement credits

I was more referring to Marriott/Bonvoy.

Hilton is also getting up there and the exchange rate is killing us. Hilton Pattaya is >$300/night next month.

In Pattaya there is only one choice but not too far from there, in Bangkok you can often get both Hilton and DT < 3,000 THB.

Some stacking here for sony
$300 get $50
American Express | Offers

$600 get $150
American Express | Offers

So potentially spend $600 get back $200
I can confirm that if you spend $600, you get $150 + $50 back. :) edit: picked up a too expensive pocket camera that I otherwise wouldn't have bought. Price matched JB HiFi, used 2 Amex cards and will get the GST back on Monday via TRS :)

Amex is now running Shop Small in the UK. It is restricted to only 80,000 cardholders and you only get one £5 credit. You do have 6 weeks to spend the £10 to get the credit though.

Excuse me while I have a lie down.

Could be a sign of things to come Down Under. I'm not worrying though since I'm only a couple of weeks away from my wallet being Amex-free.

Alex Plat annual fee is only GBP450 though and refundable pro rata if you cancel

No travel credit though

It does only earn 1KF/GBP (unless you do some magic with an International Dollar Card) though the 1 Avios or AA/GBP is competitive

Nothing in the UK to compare with the old (or new) Platinum Edge earning rates for supermarkets

Naked Wines 59/15
Bobbi Brown 80/20

Haven’t seen the 80/20 rule in action for a while

Chemist warehouse does too. Merchant fee cuts appear to be encouraging even fee conscious businesses to take Amex.

Me too. It's easy to accumulate lots of GCs with small balances and lose track of them (which I guess is the business model for the issuers - a few $ at a time on many cards adds up). Just consolidated some this week.

I can foresee a lot of $150 purchases being put through today at IKEA's all over the country in the hope the transactions clear by Saturday for maximum points accrual :)
