New Amex statement credits

End of an era - I'm unsubscribing from this thread!
I haven't had an AMEX for around 14 months and didn't unsubscribe fromthe thread.

I have wanted to watch what has been happening so I'm in the loop when I get back on board later this year.

I now know that the offers are far less generous and that the multiple cards that pretty much every member has means that the limits for offers are quickly reach.

Still, I'll be ready to churn AMEX again soon enough.

It's normal for there to be a lull in offers around this time of year with the offers picking up into the end of the year when we get Vogue, and Shop Small as the 'marquee' offers of the year. May see some more tweaking around generosity of the offers - Shop Small was reduced from 10 per registered card to 5.

Good to be back after 18 months on the bench.
Fired up the app, linked my new card, and removed the 5-6 churned ones that were still showing, like historical artefacts.

How did you get rid of them? I have some churned ons that still show

Hertz Australia & NZ - spend 150 for 40 credit in one or more transactions.

Available on the cards I haven't used with hertz.. gaah
If I change the card then I'll have to line up again when picking up

Ah yes, there you go, A Mothers Day kit of $79, timely.

I can't see the Agoda offer being popular. It seems there's 10% off in perpertuity one way or another with them or one of the other sites. Plus the issue of splitting payment over several cards may prove to onerous for most to bother.

The Amex induced ennui continues.....
Agoda keeps sending me emails multiple times a day offering me up to $150 off each time.

Wish these companies stopped these stupid gimmicks of 50% off, 60% off, 70% off and then offering an extra 10% off and when you check the rates they are the same each time.

Yes it's bordering on clickbait. There's plenty of anecdotes on OzB suggesting that the rates via the AmEx offer are higher than other paths.

its like save 1,500,000 Rp

and yes its annoying,

maybe im the odd one out but I never ever look at sales on hotels via spam

i only look at hotels when im actually looking to book a hotel
