New Amex statement credits

Yes Useless Unless you have a partner who loves shopping ... Have notice the offers seem to be getting worse of late, the last decent offer was send 50 get 10, twice, when using Google pay

Explorer. I only got the card in Dec 21 and the woollies welcome offer then was a gimmee. It's not a great offer this time, but it's not shoes or online clothing either.

Sure, if the price isn't inflated - I just compared an flight I'm planning, SGD1377 on SQ website, AU$1633 on webjet - I'm not convinced, maybe I'm missing the value proposition
OT, but I go by the rule - always buy direct if it's cheaper or the same price than elsewhere. Better to deal with the airline direct rather than some online thing if something goes wrong.

If I had a QF trip coming up and Webjet was the same / similar price, I'd use this offer. But I'd also be pondering the lost bonus QF points v $ savings.

Daughter got caught in Europe with the covid shutdown. Trying to deal with Flight Centre is impossible from overseas with no international contact provided. When I called on her behalf 4 weeks ago to sort out the return the wait was 90 minutes. They said they would need to contact Etihad and get back to me. Yeah right, I am still waiting.

Still sounds better than calling Qantas!

I'm sure that once upon a time, travel agents were there to save/insulate customers from dealing with airlines - and I'll say I've had good experiences with Amex travel when using the Amex Ultimate qantas credit. But I'll remain wary of any online platforms unless the simplest of transactions, particularly with events of the recent years

The Webjet add on fees for flights ("Webjet Booking Price Guarantee" and "Webjet Servicing Fee") are a deal killer.

Are gift cards an option here (to be used on hotels/cars)?

  • Eligible purchases include gift cards, flights, hotels or holiday packages. Insurance products purchased in the same transaction as flights, hotels or holiday packages are also valid for the offer.

Nick Scali spend $750 get $150 back
Received this on all cards. Does anyone know if Nick Scali allow you to split a purchase over multiple cards?

Some new (underwhelming) offers;

Red Cross Online - donate $70 for 1500 pts
Skechers Online - 100 / 15
The Outnet - 300 / 60
Adore Beauty Online - 100 / 20
Nimble Activewear - 150 / 30
Browns Fashion - 15% back each time
I used the Australian Red Cross bonus offer yesterday after receiving an email from them requesting donations in support of Ukraine situation. Upon receipt of the email I thought I'd check if there was an Amex offer open and there was. Seems to be a single use one this time, when some previous Amex offers from Australian Red Cross have been for up to three donations in the offer period.
