New Amex statement credits

Already heard back from them, they just quoted their own T&Cs that say they can remove businesses at any time, even after you buy the card, zero apology. Fortunately, there are some 'workarounds' in this regard, given some of the locations where the cards are still accepted (ahem...). I'd never buy from them again though, dodgy is an apt description.
Ironically, I had another Special gift cards offer pop up today (15% back one time, up to $20). Given their recent nonsense, I certainly won't be bothering or using their product ever again.

It's a shame because it actually worked really well, but then they woke up one day and arbitrarily decided to block the cards from working at supermarkets just 'because they can', and that's mainly why I'd gifted them. Hard pass from me.

Late to the Virgin Australia Amex Offer and mine is showing up as Virgin Australia NZ Direct. Seems like it will change to Winton once the transaction is set. Anyone confirm that they eventually got the $200 cashback?

I have received the credit for the two transactions I did which posted as Birdsville and Winton. Those locations didn't change at any time, but dunno if that's what would happen or not for a NZ Direct transaction.

Heads up, 'Special' gift cards seem to have stopped working at supermarkets (the main reason many of us bought them during a recent Amex Offer). Declines at multiple Woolworths locations, and also at Aldi. Haven't tried Coles yet as I still working through some other CG&M vouchers. I've sent an email to Special, we'll see what happens. Worst case scenario, I'll just pursue a chargeback for the remaining balances if they can't be accessed.
Anyone tried using the gift cards at JB or Apple from Special?

You can check retailers here by clicking the “spend at 52,000 retailers”

Woolworths used to be on the list and is gone now.

Thanks. I can still see Woolworths branded gift card on their website.

Just a follow up on the VA offer, what was the delay between charges to card and receiving the bonus? I have charges that hit last Thursday, and have all moved from pending to posted. Total amount is $711, all charged to Winton.

Thanks for any advice, am hoping to find out here before I have to call…

Thanks guys. I got the airbnb statement credit yesterday and saw they took back the points too. But today both disappeared so they probably did a mistake. Will check on it tomorrow to see if a new statement credit is applied

Airbnb - 400 / 100
AirBnB GCs seem a no brainer here assuming the T&C aren't actually enforced.

At this risk of sounding like the drunk guy arguing with an invisible but equally drunk guy in a park.....

I purchased a GC and the merchant shows up as "LGC*AIRBNB GIFTCARD SYDNEY". No email received. Not holding my breath for the credit for this one.

Another important thing to be aware of is that buying Airbnb gift cards won’t trigger the Amex Offer because payment for their gift cards is processed by a third party.Airbnb doesn’t process payments for gift cards themselves. Instead, that’s outsourced to LaunchGiftCards.com

Did you ever get the credit for this?

No. I used the offer on my card/supps though and am still waiting on those credits. One of the better ones we've had recently.

In an interesting twist, a $100 credit has now shown up from "LAUNCH GIFT CARDS PTY LTD".
