New Amex statement credits

Payment Logic Personal - 80 / 10

PLP seems to be like Sniip. I only had the offer on some primaries and no supps at all.

anyone know how to prepay a telstra phone bill with postpay plan? they did away this option when they switched everyone to new plans
Just go into your telstra account and make a manual payment - it will just put it in credit. Did it when my CC hacked and the timing led to my account being in negative😡😡
Put in $500 which just paid off future bills

I got that too. Given the nature of the product, it seems odd that they've left this payment term in:
  • Excludes transactions made through a third party establishment or payment processor.

Is there any way to automatically be notified of new offers on the iphone app?
Not that I’ve found…

Tuesdays seems to be the main day but it pays to check a couple other days. Very occasionally they send an email but that usually arrives after it has appeared in the app and website.

My partner and I both have Velocity Platinum Amex cards and I got all three and he didn’t. Fascinating how we get different offers with the same card, and at the same address…

As well as IHG, I have a couple of Hertz and Avis offers expiring tomorrow. Then I just realised that the Avis one actually includes NZ and I’m picking up a car there tomorrow - hoping the CC authorisation triggers the deal.

It has in the past for me @SYD but I didn't get the credit. Once with a hertz rental, the pre-auth was just over the spend threshold and I received the Amex email, but when they finalised the rental, the price ended up being just below the threshold for some reason and I missed out on the credit. I now check the final price when dropping off the car and recently, to prevent history repeating, I had to get them to add $2 or so to the amount to hit the threshold.

But in your case, I'd check to see if they have a prepay option because if the settlement date on your statement is outside the promo dates you may not get the credit. I used the 'pay now' option with Hertz and the amount was charged to my card and email received immediately. A new payment or settlement was not created when I returned the car.

The spend thresholds for hire car deals have increased from around $150 a few years ago to $250 - $270 now. This a bit annoying for me as I usually hire for two days and the cost tends to be less than $230 (thankfully, prices are almost back to "normal"). I need to be a little creative to get over the threshold.

This will be a 10d hire (maybe 8 if I return early but currently quoting NZ$1k). In the past, the AVIS authorisation turns into the final charge but yeah, I can’t recall if the date updates to the return date from pickup date.

I could get them to pre-pay half and settle the rest on my 28° MC….

@SYD - just went back to look at past AVIS deals. Reservation made 12 Sep 2022. Pick up ADL on 13 Oct. Car returned and payment processed to card 16 Oct.
