New Amex statement credits

Got an interesting one this morning on my Platinum Charge Card:

1 Bonus Point per foreign currency spend equivalent to AU$1, up to 20,000 Points

I've added it, but a single bonus point is not nearly enough to make up for the 3% foreign currency fee, so I don't think I'll be taking advantage of it.

Well that's annoying timing. Could have maxed this one out with ease in the first half of the year. No overseas travel planned while this offer is active. Oh well.

I have also seen bonus points appear as "Mobile Wallet" and corresponding only to the in-person Google Wallet transactions on the card and no others. It may be that they accidentally wired it like a past offer specifically for spend from mobile wallets. That clearly is not consistent with the terms.
Yes, tried a couple of mobile payments yesterday and got the message but nothing for card payments. Of course, that doesn't mean the card payments won't be captured by other means or Amex is going to have a lot of complaining cardmembers.

The Financial Times offer is bizarre. Spend $100, get $70 back but their highest tier is $95 per year? I literally can’t figure out how you’d use it unless there’s a way to stack subscriptions.

Can easily buy coles myer gift cards from myers for use at coles or others. This is what I do when I get the myer deals and have got the credit in the past.
Same. I also got a Myer cashback offer on my Westpac app (Altitiude Black) which worked as above 🤫

Just wanted to note I saved The Cheesecake Shop offer a while back, and then when I went to use it the store wouldn't take AMEX. Wasn't impressed and was committed to the purchase by then as I had no backup. I checked the offer terms and there was no list of either participating or non-participating stores, so I sent the head office an email complaining, and they sent me a gift card to the value of the offer.

It certainly seems that as more businesses "take" AMEX, not all locations actually participate. I know I had an issue with my local Maccas for a while, where the app would let me pay via AMEX but if I went through drive-thru my card always failed... so I suspected the manager had turned it off at the terminal?
