Now THOSE were the days! I remember hopping from one store to another in the mall buying shampoo, TP, soap or a couple cans of soup in single $5 transactions. Back in those days the "thing" was transfer to SPG then on to AA with a bonus 5000 points.
That’s right. I never use my Platinum Reserve never sees any activity and this offer appeared on that card rather than my charge card which is where I make all of my purchases.
I normally wouldn't bother but this is a good way to buy 4 Rad Nah for wife and daughter and get the 5th one free. The saving for me is $20 but it's worth it to swe both of them happy.

Yes, I still have nearly 700K AA points, mainly via the SPG to AA trick plus a bonus which essentially meant I was getting about .9 AA points per 1 MR. Fun times. Oh, and very large amounts of referral points!

Wow, I have long since spent my AA points on mostly J to South America a few times, back then availability wasn't sch a problem if you booked well in advance.
Totally make sense, suitable for those of us who fly business or first, but refuse to take Skybus / Sydney Trains / taxi / Uber / Heathrow Express, and take Piccadilly Line / PTV 901 bus / Sydney Buses instead.
Heathrow Express, which operates the 15-minute express train service from Paddington to the airport, has raised its advance ticket prices from £5.50 to £16.50!
For those that have the "Spend and Get" 5x MR points per $ up to 2,500 (or similar), does anyone know if the bonus points track per transaction or get dumped in the account at the end of the promo? Nothing in my activity shows no bonus points, just the points from the transaction.
I've had points sporadically appear as "Mobile Wallet", which seem to align with spend. However, they don't seem to appear with any consistency or in the order of the transactions.
I have also seen bonus points appear as "Mobile Wallet" and corresponding only to the in-person Google Wallet transactions on the card and no others. It may be that they accidentally wired it like a past offer specifically for spend from mobile wallets. That clearly is not consistent with the terms.
