New Amex statement credits

re the various hotel credits i have 2 questions relating to IHG and Hilton,

1. I'm staying at Crowne Plaza terrigal tomorrow however it's all been pre-paid through Citi Prestige 4th night free. My question though is does anyone know if i was to purchase a hotel credit for a future stay to cover the $350 will it work? Assume if i do it at the hotel it will be done by the same front desk terminals.

2. I have a stay booked at the Hilton in Tokyo in Oct, does anyone know if it's possible to have the hotel charge a fixed amount to pre-pay upto the value of the min spend amount. I want to do this on 2 cards, so would be great to know if possible and what the process is.

The front desk are 'approachable' at Crowne Plaza. Could you make a forward booking that allows cancellation, you might then be able to apply the credit to the breakfast charge.

You've two restaurants on site, surely you'll reach the min spend over 4 days?

In regards to the United offer of 1000/200, it stipulates in the T&C that flights purchased must start in Australia. How does Amex know where the flights actually originate? Domestic flights are sold in AUD so could they tell the difference between this and an international flight from Aus?
Update on this:
Booked the flights anyway (one booking domestic, one US-Canada) and was over $800. Received the email immediately saying the offer had been redeemed but obviously wasn't expecting to get anything.

Two days later $200 credit applied to my account.

Was just coming on here to see if this credit could be valid for buy miles promotions.

Only got the 10k bonus points offer on personal plat.

Having the cashback would've helped as it subsidises the usage fee (1% for 1 payreward/$ or 1.8% for 2).

180 bucks for 8k qantas + 10k bonus MR (+ 22500 base MR) doesn't seem too bad (assuming you just pay yourself/trusted friend).
