New Amex statement credits

Regarding the current Qantas 1000/200 offer, do we know if any spend over $1000 will trigger the rebate, or are there some checks and balances done in the background to enforce the USA Destination and direct flight requirements?

Interestingly enough, the cheapest economy direct flex fare to the States that I could find is about $2,700 (SYD-HNL-SYD)

I'm not sure too many checks and balances are in place based on recent experiences.

Mine did not trigger when I booked a ticket to the east coast during the error fare. YMMV.

I suspect there are different ticketing arrangements for International and Domestic airfares which Amex is able to identify and use for this promo.

So you don’t drink wine, or wear shoes, or stay in hotels?
I just got $200 off on a return flight to NZ ($100 from QF and the other from AMEX). The later has already posted back to my account. Hertz car booked in NZ that’ll have another cash back.

Plenty of others over the years. Although, don’t recall ever using one of the shoes offers… 🤔

Discover Cars - 150 / 10% back each time
Craig Cook - The Natural Butcher - 75 / 15

Cathay Pacific - 1500 / 150

Hopefully less whingeing this time
2 out of 3 for me (Qantas Ultimate). Then again, they occasionally pop up for me a few days later.

PS> Not whinging about the previous statement credits so much as making a general observation ;)
