On a more serious note, I don't think I've seen a widespread unrestricted spend-related bonus for a while.

Last I saw was probably in June for 1 extra point per dollar on international payments.

Got an 80/400 Orlebar Brown offer. No idea what is was so checked out their offering. They must think if we spend $1450 on a credit card, we are fools easily parted with money. $500+ tshirts and $800 swimming trunks for men!

Thanks for posting, this is effectively free money, as they have lots of gift cards to choose from.

But be warned, the gift card issued can only be used via Google Wallet or Aple Pay, so it's very coughbersome to set up and use.

i do the same, can also purchase gift cards with it, i usually swap it for a Wish gift card so i can use for petrol as well.

I also just get the Woollies one but it can be used online too, just like a credit card. IME it's pretty easy to set up (ie activate in the app) and use that way or via Apple Pay.

Yep I tried to use it to buy some GC's in store last year and it didn't work. They weren't Wish Cards though so maybe it's allowed for the WOW ones.

My understanding is that a Special Woolworths card can be used in store to purchase other gift cards, unless something has recently changed. This is both my personal experience (purchased either TCN or Ultimate Gift Cards in store a few months ago using one of these from a previous offer) and also many others on ozbargain. The reason for this is that it is effectively a prepaid Mastercard - it is not like other WW gift cards, which cannot be used to purchase other gift cards.

When you tap it on the eftpos terminal it shows as "STORE CARD" instead of Visa or MC. I assume it is subject to the same gift card purchase restrictions as other gift cards at Woolworths - i.e. ok to buy most store-specific gift cards but not other prepaid MC/Visa cards.

I buy the Woolworths card, add to mobile wallet. I then go into Woolworths and purchase a Wish Gift card for the full value. Tap and pay and done.

if i recall correctly you only earn reward points on gift cards when there is a promotion like a 20x rewards points on Apple gift cards etc.

You get the EDR points when you buy items using the WISH gift card. So, ultimately, you will always get both your Amex and EDR points assuming you use up your gift cards.
