Worth mentioning that unlike QF, you can preallocate seats on the Turbo props ;)

First flight to GLT is now $114 but the return is on special for $69, last week it was reversed!

I was up in Armidale recently and was speaking with a cabbie who told me that the next Virgin destination to be announced would be either Armidale and Tamworth. I thought nothing of it really until I overheard people talking about it in a cafe where I was having lunch and then again it was mentioned by a relative up there. Logic would suggest that there was more room in the Tamworth market (more people travel between Sydney and Tamworth than Sydney and Armidale - the plane I got up was a QantasLink Q200!) Is it possible that one of these destinations could be next? It seemed to be the buzz of the town. It definitely would be nice to have cheaper flights up to Armidale, with starting prices at $175, or indeed anywhere in regional NSW (Dubbo or Wagga could also get a guernsey). What are the thoughts on here? Could a NSW destination be next for the ATRs?

Considering that both destinations have close to half a dozen return flights to Syd a day (I think they have the same amount of daily services actually?), you would be right! I would struggle to think of more deserving regional NSW routes.

Unlucky you ended up getting a Q200, as the 300's nearly always run on this route. Bring on the competition!

In relation to what I earlier posted, I noticed at that the lead-up fare to Tamworth from Sydney is now $99 with QantasLink. I think this is the first time ever the lead-in price has been below $100 (excluding during sale periods). This is the same price QantasLink now have on Emerald and Gladstone flights. Is there potential that Qantas knows something...? Could we see Tamworth flights announced this week or some time soon? Or is it (bucketloads of doubt here) just QantasLink supporting regional communities by giving them low fares when there's no competition on the route? Is it in celebration of the recently-installed security systems at the airport terminal that allow larger aircraft to operate commercial services? Me thinks Tamworth to be by Virgin announced soon...
