It would appear so. On page 24 it says: "You'll receive the cover of Platinum Insurance whenever you pay for your trip in full with your Platinum Card, Membership Rewards Points or even frequent flyer points."

On page 25: "Visit the new online Insurance Finder for full Platinum Insurance details at americanexpress.com.au/platinuminsurance "

When I logged in it has a link to download the pdf but it's still the 30 January 2012 version ( https://icm.aexp-static.com/Interne.../Insurance Benefits/Platinum_RCP_AU_FINAL.pdf )

I've just called Ace Insurance (rather than Amex since Amex usually put you through to Ace when you have insurance enquiries) and was told that they haven't been told about the changes yet, even though they're the underwriter. I then called Amex and the lady I spoke to did know about the changes and she said she'll pass on feedback that ACE didn't know about it, and also that the link on the americanexpress.com.au/platinuminsurance page still has the old terms and conditions. She confirmed to me that the changes are effective immediately and that we are covered if a ticket is purchased with frequent flyer points, however attained, and not just from Membership Rewards points.

I also called Amex about the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards program - five star membership which is mentioned on page 19 of the booklet (and offers an upgrade to the next vehicle category when available). I know that Gold membership was offered previously with the Platinum Charge card, but I already had the Hertz Number One Club Gold membership when I got my charge card. I hadn't seen mention of the Five Star membership before so it appears that it is a new benefit added. I first called the Platinum Travel team about this, on the number listed in the booklet, and they said they would find out and call me back. They called back and told me that it should be an automatic upgrade with Hertz when I make a booking and that I should call Hertz. When I called Hertz he checked with a supervisor and then told me that Amex need to notify them that I am entitled to the upgrade to Five Star. I asked the lady at Amex when I was asking about the travel insurance and she is going to check tomorrow and call me back. If you apply for Hertz Gold Plus membership online there is no provision to add your current Hertz membership number.

No word yet on any of these benefits to hit Centurion;

- Preferred Golf
- 1 complimentary guest into the Virgin lounges - from the 1st of October.
- Accor Advantage Plus - from the 1st of October.

My RM is away, while her replacement gave what i would call a very generic answer. Is anyone able to shed some light?

2 Centurion cards for the Basic cardholder, 1 Centurion for a sup and then i think 4 platinum charge for sup's. So in short the basic wont have a platinum charge. Just a platinum reserve credit.
