Is anyone else able to check in by mobile. Apparently I can't because I have a 'special service request', whatever that is. Hasn't let me for the last 6 flights since the change.

I have had this exact issue with only 1 flight, the rest have let me check in on my phone fine.

I definitely did board the flight, will be interesting to see how I prove it, as a boarding pass does not prove I boarded!
That is an interesting stance from the airline.

A passenger only has an itinerary and a boarding pass to prove they were on the flight. What other proof do they require?

Just tried to book Per-Syd 29th Jan - 1st Feb. Website says no flights on 1st Feb at all. Want to fly business. Also checked economy.

Rather p!ssed off. Don't want to fly QF but may have to.

I just had the same issue trying to book HBA-CBR - no flights at all! Called my company travel provider and apparently the system is playing up.

Yep same here trying to book a simple SYD-MEL! Reward bookings are still working for me on most routes but not if I want to pay.. I have a heap of flights I need to book too..

It's tempting to go back to QF for a few flights while this is going on, but to be honest I'd rather not as once I reached LTG that was it after too many bad experiences I haven't been back in a long while.

Today, I've attempted to book 12 flights (some J, some -Y) and I must say that I've been 100% successful!

.........................100% successful in failure. I've not managed to book one single flight despite trying since about 1pm and on hold off and on for about 2 hours.

Saw SYD-MEL flights just disappear today for bookings next week, which was wide open yesterday.
At one point I was offered 6.30am or 6pm only, or lots of connections via Canberra.

Interestingly Zuji managed to display more options, albeit with the VAustralia logo and I think incorrectly interpreting Saver fares as Flexis....

Definitely not been a smooth switchover.

Food for thought...

As can be expected, if you have multiple people on your booking, selecting a fare selects it for all members of the travelling party. For example, if you book for 3 adults, if you select a Saver Lite, you purchase 3 x Saver Lites.

Qantas is the same in this respect; in fact, many airlines are the same. No big deal, right?

What if 3 of you are travelling, none of you have status, but you only need 1 or 2 checked bags between you? This means it'd be better to have some Saver Lites and some Saver. But you can't mix and match like that.

Sure, you could book separate bookings, maybe get them combined later (the fact that the bookings are disjointed probably equates to little consequence), but food for thought... On top of that, the necessity of having separate bookings also induces another credit card surcharge. Maybe that's one of those "unavoidable" circumstances (i.e. 'too bad, so sad'... it's a remote scenario so you swallow it and take it as is).

I'm sure there's not much point in mixing and matching, say, some pax having Saver and some having Flexi, or some having Economy and some having Business and this detail must be on the same booking. It's probably only important for Saver Lite and others only because Saver Lite does not have baggage included at all.

NZ have a similar thing going with Seats to Suit - you can mix and match fare types (Seat, Seat+Bag, Works, Works Deluxe) of pax on the same booking, where it's typical for a family of four, for example, to have 1-2 Seat+Bag fares and the remainder Seat fares, rather than 4 Seat+Bag fares.

Points and SC posted last night for flight on 15/1 - this did require a call to VA and they did a manual claim (interestingly they did not want copies of BP and itinerary).

Just waiting now on flights from 19/1 to get my new shiny gold card.

I am still missing flights from 18 Jan, 20 Jan and 25 Jan. Funny that flight from 13 Jan has posted without any glitches.

More time wasted to chase these flights to credit.

Missing 11th Jan Syd-Mel-Per in J.

Did a retro online claim - got denied. Sent in email with boarding passes etc. Nothing yet.

Have also been told by a friend in the TA industry that the new Virgin system is having awful problems if you have other airlines on your Virgin PNR -- like autocancelling them!

I still haven't registered points from a couple of SQ flights last week (they normally came in pretty fast before the changeover).

On the upside, it looks like you can now claim missing points from SQ flights online (which you couldn't do, at least the last time I tried). On the downside, the page errors out and doesn't seem to work...

Any VA people out there... Any chance of an update on when we can expect some of these problems to be fixed? I think most of us can be pretty patient, but no communication sure doesn't help the process!

Friend booked a flight for $280. Credit card was authorised for $280 x FIFTEEN!! And to top it all...no actual reservation was made! Hours and hours and hours on the phone. Now waiting for funds to be released.
