New Changes to Citi Cards

The jetstar jump? Yes, 1:1 earning at a budget price is all well and good, but QFF points aren't really as good as many of citi's transfer partners, so I'll stay put for now thanks.

At $1 = 1 QF point with Jetstar / Bankwest, or Citi $1 = 0.75 SQ mile, it is really much of muchless.

Also Citi earns nothing for ATO and B Pay, so whereas Jetstar and Bankwest are still giving points for these, a big consideration as well.

Prestige is still 1:1 for most partners (albeit for a much higher annual fee). Agree re ATO etc.

Unfortunately some of us aren't eligible :( I applied for the recent limit increase that was going around and it was the most painful process I've ever been through... Got approved but not for $30k so no upgrade prompt for me.

Sorry greenfrog86. Citi are often difficult to deal with, but if you keep chipping away at it you should get there eventually (try again in 3 months?)

In my experience Citi will be ringing you up offering a credit increase before long.

Is it that simple anymore? I've had a Citi card in one form or another for over a decade. I'm on prestige now with a sizable limit (though still have headroom to get to the $100k product maximum) and put through $50k/month on it. Used to get limit increase regularly (as soon as maxed out, would get an offer) but haven't had one for years. Figured they're not giving them out without assessing financials anymore.
My Citi limit is enough & would rather have a Veda hit from a new application with sign up points nowadays.
Wondering if my experience is unique or there has actually been a change in policy (as evidenced by how rigorous the limit increase process is) as described by greenfrog86.

I was answering an e-rewards survey a couple of days ago

One of the questions was "what does Citi mean to you?"

Answered: "devaluation and reduction in transfer rates with no warning"

I am actually happy with Citi Prestige as I did my first hotel deal of pay 3 nights and get 4 nights. Now that was my only call to them in 6 months or more. I do quite a bit with our two cards and auto pay is running smoothly. Clearing out the points was easy earlier this month just doing a couple of clicks.

Cit Signature now limits points after $20 000 spend per month from March 18th
Does anyone know what happens for the statement period say March 3 - April 3 ?
Will the statement issued on April 3 only pay 1.5 points per dollar up to $20 000 and then no more points after March 18 ?
What if the spend is up to $40 000 by March 18?

Quite simple. Normal points earn until March 18, then the lower earn and cap on the rest.

Yes, one suspects they will get a fair few cancellation letters this month AND see a marked dropoff of spending on the cards.

Can't see the point in cancelling a fee free card so I'll let them pick up the tab on the PriorityPass for a bit longer with now $0 monthly spend from the heady days of $20-50k per month. Phoned them, they don't care. Offered Prestige with $700 fee. No thanks.

Even with the reduced earn rate for KF/VA points, if you hold a fee free Signature card, it is still a great card to have, as all the other banks are going to devalue their Visa/MC anyway. So for me, I would still probably use it once I cancel the ANZ Rewards Black card .....

This is my exact intention as well. 0.75 + potential 15% transfer to velocity is still quite stout for a regular everyday non business use/spend card.

Already better than ANZ black if you were unlucky enough to hold prior to current promotion.

I only signed up the ANZ Rewards Black. They have not yet told me when is the new rate coming to affect yet. Fingers crossed that the current scheme stays for 1 year.
