New new new DSC offer [only until Nov 2 - Specific Routes/Class/Dates]

I have an existing domestic booking (red e-deal fare) which I need to cancel as my plans have changed. If I transform this fare into a voucher and then use the voucher as part-payment for one of the routes eligible for the double status offer, will I still get the double status credits?

Just to be clear: The existing booking which I want to cancel was made before the DSC deal was announced and is for a domestic journey. The value of the resultant voucher would be about 1/3 of the cost of the DSC eligible international fare.

No. The voucher retains the original booking date and is ineligible.

I don't disagree with you and I am always flamed on these threads for having a different opinion to the pack.

In my opinion double SCs offers should be there as a reward for regular flying. I was going to say loyal but then people question the definition of loyalty....

In my opinion they should be there as a reward, err consolation, for regular long distance Y travel =)

Finally, a DSC offer (although I did get the HKG one to celebrate the start of A380 services a while back). I might be able to take advantage with a MEL-HKG JASA hopefully!

If I book MEL-SYD-HKG to get on QF127 would I get DSC on the MEL-SYD leg too?

Also got this one today.

I am being bombarded, it seems, by QF DSC offers. Why the sudden love, I wonder .

Momentarily gagged on the SYD-SCL in May next year as only last week booked a JASA on that route to get to S America for a Galapagos cruise in May. But then saw DSC offer is only whY and whY+ - pffft, they can stick it :p.

Hopefully they'll drop a fairly large international sale in the next few days which will entice travellers!

Got the offer yesterday, and it has come at the perfect time.

I was going to book LAX-SYD-LAX in Y+ this weekend, both sectors within the time frame for the promo...

After reading the T&C multiple times, I can only assume these flights will be eligible, regardless of
them originating in the U.S.

I much prefer to pay $2800 return in Y+ pretty much year round, compared to the $5000 fare being
offered most of the time ex SYD

I got the offer. Little Miss did not. No idea if Mr Katie got it (DSC offers not the highest of our phone call topics right now :p)

DSC offer cities selective, different classes, no favours really, just to put bums on seats to suit, no thanks QA, you can do better than that.

Received it here too, although I can't see how I can make use of it. Only 160SC to go before reaching WP anyhow, so I don't exactly have a need for the promotion.

it would be interesting to see the redemption rate of this offer, then how many people ACTUALLY make a booking. you'd think of everyone, AFFers would be most likely to take it up, but looking at most responses on here it looks minimal.

Booked a YASA HKG-SYD for Jan 2013 and a JASA SYD-MNL Mar 2013.
Just that the dates suited me....

Got it as well. It's the first one I've received. I made it to WP a few weeks ago based on BIS only.

It's a little disappointing that the time period for booking is so short. I have a flight to London to book that would qualify, but trying to book it so quickly is a bit tough. But it will all but guarantee me WP again next year so worth pushing a bit.

Offer expires: 18 Mar 2025

I have a travel plan coming up for Sydney to Amsterdam and return in Jan'13 end..

Just wondering would the SYD-LHR and return leg qualify for the DSC? even if the tickets are done for SYD-Amsterdam return?

Thanks

Booked my Y+ LAX-SYD-LAX a few weeks earlier than I was intending to.

The lure of 180 extra SC's and a fare of $2,800 was just too good to pass up

Just got invited to a wedding in March. Guess I'll be taking advantage of the offer by default.
