Card Promotions New Offer 30k Points or 200 status credits with CC Sign-Up

Is there an exclusion period ?
Not according to the T&Cs or the people at OzBargain although some reports say it depends on how many other Citi/NAB backed cards you've had recently and should wait a few months before applying again. Some people reported being approved within days of closing the card though so YMMV.

Personally, I closed the card late March and applied again earlier this month. I was instantly rejected before being able to upload docs or input any information. Other Ozbargainers reported no credit check was done when this happened to them although a credit check appeared on my credit file about a week later.

This offer seems to have come back in another form.
This time, only 30k bonus points is provided.

For the most recent 30k bonus points promotion, the terms and conditions state:

To be eligible to receive 30,000 bonus Velocity Points, you must (a) be a Velocity Frequent Flyer member, (b) apply for the American Express Velocity Platinum credit card, American Express Velocity Business Card, Westpac Altitude Platinum credit card, Westpac Altitude Black credit card, Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer credit card, Virgin Australia Velocity High Flyer credit card between 12.01am (AEST) 12 June 2024 and 11:59pm (AEST) 15 July 2024, and (c) be approved and meet the minimum spend criteria for the eligible offer associated with the individual card if the application is successful. Offer end dates may be extended without notice.
Does this mean that as long as I apply by 15 July, I am still eligible for the 30k bonus points even if I'm approved after that date?

That's how I am reading it - I applied on the 15th, approved on the 16th - expecting to see the 30k bonus points....

Just for reference - I applied under a card upgrade offer during the promo period (from a regular Velocity Amex to a Plat Velocity Amex) and got the sign up bonus for the upgrade but not the 30k bonus from VFF. This was the first time I had ever taken up a Plat Velocity Amex and the terms weren't sufficiently clear as to whether a new card using an upgrade path would qualify or not, but I guess now we know :(

Just thought I would add this in case the webpage disppears.

The 30,000 bonus Points will be allocated to your Velocity account in accordance with, and subject to the Velocity membership Terms and Conditions 10-12 weeks after you meet the minimum spend criteria for the eligible offer associated with the individual card.

My partner applied for the Virgin Velocity Flyer Card 12th July. Got approved 17th July and the bonus 30k didn't show up.
Mine came through the same time as the first credit card bonus points landed - 60k Flyer offer.
How did yours go @Brizz & @marcojim

The offer is with Virgin. Is it safe to assume we can close the account and Virgin will still deposit the 30k?

I believe this is the case. From Virgin's perspective they should just see bank bonus points coming into your VFF account and flag you for the next round of 30k bonus points

This is for the 30k additional sign up bonus. I know once a statement from Virgin money is generated the month 1 and 2 points then sit with VFF

My wife and i applied for this card, didn't get the 30k bonus and I called VFF. Two different agents confirmed that the points will arrive in 10-12 weeks and we're free to close and still get the points. Not too sure, but we need to churn a few cards so we've closed it up.
