Hmm.
Hi VR,
Are you after a particular group of flyers, eg. very frequent ones or like cross section of different levels of membership?

A member that flies would be beneficial :)

Liam,
You could probably ask / submit. As long as you have had an account and it can verified, it might be ok.
Bah, I fail on the 1 year membership by 1 month. If only the years I spent lurking could count

Submit away Liam and awilcockson!

I am not such a frequent flyer at the moment but my last few US flights were on VA (and can I say, a very good economy experience) and my last batch of domestics have all been on the former VB, so I will take that as sufficient.

Should be a 4th requirement on the list... that each of the 5 successful applicants must complete a detailed trip report with pictures! :D

Add a 5th requirement to the chosen 5. They must press upon Velocity to give a status match again to those who missed out on the last round! Well, at least to AFF members who missed out!:mrgreen::lol:

You have PM as well (although I suck at '25 words or less' type things; i'm an engineer not a creative writer!) :)

Such a shame that I haven't been here for one year yet :(

May I say - without clogging up this thread, that this is just another fantastic example of Virgin Australia engaging with their customers.

Kudos Velocity Rewards

Now for the inevitable: Any chance of me being a PA or even the waiter for the event? No? Okay. :(

PS: Does the fact that Thursday 9th June (date of closure for entries) is my birthday get me an automatic vote? ;)

Totally Agree. As mentioned in the past, it would be great if QF could engage their FF's in this manner. A face-to-face forum always nets far more constructive outcomes, and allows both parties to see what makes them tick (rather than assuming or just doing boring old market research surveys).

Are we allowed to second a nomination? If so, I would suggest that, should oz_mark have nominated, he gets my vote.

I know nothing about/of oz_mark, other than the calibre of his posts, which are typically insightful, well thought-out and concise, even on the odd occasion that I don't totally agree with him.

If he is willing to provide you with his opinion/analysis, and you're not even having to pay him, IMO your people would be remise not to include him. But I’m sure that I am not telling you something that you don’t already know.

Late to the frequent flyer obsession, only been velocity since July last year and lurked around here since I started flying more with work.

Maybe next year (also copies others by adding I live in Sydney, have availability next week along with some puppy dog eyes)

oh well.. exciting for those involved....

does the interstate flight get Status Credits :p

I've sent a PM, and thankfully that day is completely free for me, especially with TAFE now finished :)

Love your work!

Does the offer of free flights extend to those of us who are located in the UK? :)

Can't make it next week otherwise would've already PM'ed but if it's not FlyBuys my guess is it's IFE related...

Does that have to be a member that flies DJ? :p I'd love to be enticed, but am coming very much from the QF/JQ camp.

Also, it sounds like just a pre-launch lunch - very informational, there is no forum style interrogation of the AFF members selected right ? There would be many many more members with extreme knowledge of aviation and I would have no chance against that :(. All I have is great interest

I'm eligible on all counts, but have vowed in the past to never visit SYD or fly DJ again if I can avoid it publically, so wouldn't want to go back on my word! Plus, I'm a bit tipsy so that isn't helping the creative juices.

It's not Star Alliance according to JB.
It's a "new partnership" though.

So it's probably a partnership with someone who isn't an airline.

So... My money is on FlyBuys.

I don't think it would be FlyBuys, AFF isn't probably the best place to ask for feedback on that part of the program.

It wouldn't surprise me if its Star Alliance, or something related.

My best guess would be that it has to do with the full re-launch of the Velocity Rewards program, after all, that is what we care about the most, and would have the most amount of feedback to give.

We would all love to see the Star Alliance logo next to the door on every Virgin aircraft, but Bogetti seems to think they can do without an alliance for the moment, and to his credit, he was correct. There is no major holes in the network at the moment, particularly with EY & SQ.

Can't make it next week otherwise would've already PM'ed but if it's not FlyBuys my guess is it's IFE related...

Again, I doubt it. Its pretty easy to ask what everybody wants for IFE.

" I want that thing that you have on V Australia, its soooooo cool" That is about the only response you can get. (Maybe because it is just that good?) Oh - Power ports on the A330 would be nice too, my MacBook Air gets me about 8hrs, even just a USB port to charge up my iPhone would be nice. But that is all you can say, Business travellers don't care as much about IFE as the leisure market. (I think?)

PM'ed you this afternoon. I forgot how little 25 words is, particularly when you are talking about shameless self-promotion ;) *Fingers Crossed*

Just add on my thanks to what Velocity Rewards is doing for AFF. Its really nice to know an airline cares enough to listen to its frequent flyers.

Just add on my thanks to what Velocity Rewards is doing for AFF. Its really nice to know a company cares enough to listen to some of its frequent flyers. But to have them fly you to their HQ, have a meet and greet just to listen to your feedback/show you what they are doing.... really means a lot.

Give up the brown-nosing Liam - you were given a second chance, and you blew it by exceeding the clearly laid out rules of less than 25 words!!!!:mrgreen::mrgreen:

A free trip to Sydney? Why not? Pity about the exams, they can wait!
