Maybe they should take a couple million from that $100m and put it towards sorting out some of their many other issues.
Hobart Airport doesn't even have jetbridges or a full length taxiway on the single runway and they claim it's a "modern" airport. Right...As far as I know, the HBA Master Plan has a runway strengthening first, funded largely by the taxpayers (its owned by Schiphol), then some terminal work. As I can't see the taxpayers forking out abt $100mill or so for an overseas owned airport, the chances of a terminal upgrade and a new QP is about zero (as @jakeseven7 notes).
Never needed them!And the showers

The ADL International was the truly embarrassing bit and the first to be bulldozed. The current terminal is actually on the site. The old terminal, which I only flew out of once on at tag flight to SYD was like an indoor basketball court with doors on the corners (aka boarding gates). Yes, basically a hanger…Hobart and Adelaide were equal dumps for a while, then Adelaide decided they were too embarrassed to be an equivalent dump to Hobart, bulldozed their terminal and moved on.
Hobart remains of all the states by far the worst capital airport in the country.

Anyone have an inkling of the actual date of re-opening in Apr? Flying in-out of HKG weekly again so nice to know the bolt-hole has returned...Ohhh yay to Hong Kong re-opening, loved the coughtails there!
Hobart - will happen about as soon as the VA2 lounge opens.... ie never.
Melbourne J - excellent news, its a big space I'm sure they can do much better with it.
It's a long time since I was there so it may have changed, but I thought the BA F Lounge was rather good. Heaps of light, tarmac views, comfortable seating (which is never a given in lounges, it seems), plenty of catering, Champagne bar, different zones/rooms, spa, never a queue for showers, plenty of decor to create visual interest. What more were you hoping for?I was pretty disappointed with the BA F (non-Concorde) lounge in LHR T5 earlier this year. Nowhere near the level of AA Flagship, let alone QF Flounge.
This is very good news.

Could barely find a seat (it was a zoo), almost non existent hot food options, very slow service. It was probably most comparable to the QF SYD Int J lounge. I used it three times this year so not a one off.
I guess you haven’t been since covid. I prefer the BA J lounge pre covid to this one post covid.
