New Qantas Lounge Heathrow Terminal 3

Damn - wonder if I should change my flight on the 15th November to later so I get to try it out

From Wednesday:
By what I've seen (which I guess is the reception/entrance point but even so) it is still a full on building site. Materials everywhere, first fix M&E still evident, suspended ceiling barely started.

On the assumption that this is at least partially representative, based on my experience this is at least 6-8 weeks out.
I'm there at the end of November, not getting my hopes up.

According to this article by David Flynn, the new Qantas lounge is opening this month . . . at T1.

Has there some change?

Mea culpa. Doofus mistake - note to self, never bash out a column right up against deadline when it’s the wee hours in Singapore, you’re jetlagged and because you’ve been doing SIN-related writing you have T1 on the brain!!

Oh. The same David Flynn. Also note the typo with "far machines", and the misplaced apostrophes in "an airlines' lounge" and "with the airlines' latest lounges".

I'm flying out on the 15th November and I want it open so I can check out the gin bar

I'm very keen to try it out, so will be booking a flight soon after it opens :)

There's an EX UK sale to Oz currently - £700 for economy, PE good status value at £2140 & Business for £3700. Or you could just book BA out of T3 ... (any ex T3 oneworld airline for that matter).

I'm very much a fan of my LUX flights on BA ex T3. Can get them 80 pound each way in J with an evening outbound (I think even cheaper with winter schedules now). Lyon can also be done cheaply.

I have VIE on Nov 25 and BUD on Dec 6 so will be hoping to visit for a drink on both occasions or report back on progress.

I’m on a QF flight on the 15th so we can commiserate together in the CX lounge

What time is your flight - I’d much prefer to be in the Emirates lounge if you are able to guest me in - please and thank you
I’m on an EK flight on November the 15th, so fingers crossed.[/QUOTE

Emirates is nicer than Cathay in London?

I haven't been in it but past experience of Emirates lounges have been very good. I know a lot of people like the Cathay lounge in T3 but I'm not a fan

The EK lounge in LHR is excellent. It was completely renovated within the past couple of years. For a mixed J/F lounge it’s very, very good. When I’m flying QF F ex-LHR it’s my Lounge of choice.

As a WP flying J on QF I don’t think I’m allowed in am I?
