New Qantas Uniform

I like it. Nothing is going to be "wow" to all people, but to me it look good. The pink is the obvious stand-out that takes some getting used to, but its bold and makes a statement, without being over-the-top. I look forward to seeing it in person.

Quite like the female versions, hat/coat and dress are all stylish an I like the different colours - obviously what used to clash in the old days doesn't anymore...so I'll go with the tide.

But the guys is a bit boring. One red slash down the tie - surely any of us could have come up with that and been paid a lot less than Martin Grant.

Then again, I barely give the guys a passing glance. I always appreciate the female FA's ;)...

Somebody at the show has reported that the hats are made in Taiwan. What the....?? I thought that there would be enough interest to have them made here

And yes, a slash of orange would work too. Pink orange red and French Blue would work.

Adding an orange could be quite a horrid contrast - fuschia, that red and the navy all have blue undertones, but orange would have a yellow undertone.

Really??
Nothing on the linked PDF about the shoes.

The Louboutins were just for the show today, they are not part of the regular uniform. I'm sure I hear wailing about this ... (unless staff are expected to buy their own shoes, which I think they are?)

Yes, just like with the current uniform we provide our own shoes.

After wearing those shoes though today, they needed a crowbar to try and get them off me! I didn't wanna give them back.

Maybe. I can only see black and not the French Blue and probably the pink and red are wrong too so I'm just guessing.

And here we go again with the comments on News.com.au and theage.com.au, pfft..
There was a great twitter one shortly after they announced yesterday that the launch would be this morning. I didn't save it but it was along the lines of 'stop releasing a new uniform and fix your bloody service qantas!'. Makes you wonder why the hell people even follow QF on Twitter if they hate them :)

Ah :) Well, if they're expected to buy their own, they better get a *substantial* price rise!

I believe some airlines provide 'approved footwear' lists, so i'm guessing QF is similar. In fact, that would make far more sense ;)

One on the age was pondering how much it costs and the reasons for changing the uniform so often.

10 changes in 65 years. lol.

I like it particularly the trench coat but I am awful fond of trench coats.

As an Aussie sheep farmers daughter I am pleased to see the uniforms are mostly Australian Merino wool.

Those trench coats look ridiculous are they trying to be Sherlock Holmes rather than FA's?

They'll only wear them say in London in winter, once they leave the airport. A friend of mine works for CX and they have a trench coat for winter too, but they never wear it in the airport.

In other words, as a passenger you'll never see it so if you personally don't like it, don't worry.

probably the pink and red are wrong too

I hope they are wrong because I don't really like how it looks on the screen with those colours together. I hope I will like the colour combination better when I see it in real life.

I have just seen it in real life (with no trick lighting) and the red and the pink still don't work together.

I love it !! :)
The coat and trilby look fantastic, I like the black and red together and I think it will look very stylish at either end of the age spectrum.
Wonder if the Loubi's are part of the uniform too ? ;)

Love the Loubi's also, where can we go to buy a pair?:D

Love the new uniform its very modern, chic and classy. Very black and very Melbourne, would expect nothing less from a Melbourne boy who designed them. Well done!!!

I would like to know who will be wearing the dress with the pink sleeve and pink scarfe? Ground staff or CSMs?

Still not seeing any picture of the French Blue

I think the uniforms look very stylish, and perhaps may contribute to lifting service standards. Ultimately it is important whether the crew feel comfortable working in the uniform, and so we will have to wait and see how they react. It might also provide a break between the old International services that have been rent asunder, and the new services emerging following the tie-up with Emirates.
