Cheers for that - just rang as well, no dramas. Im assuming they will be the new design that they send out...fingers crossed!

I am tempted also- I received the old style with my renewal a couple of months ago. I'll call tomorrow & ask for the new card & tags, and my wallet will be looking flash with the also very good looking new ANZ & AMEX cards. Lift your game Citibank!

I received my Gold card yesterday and it is the same design as the previous Silver etc (plain back with a pic of an engine the other side), however I have the Global Wallet version. Is the non Global Wallet version different?

No reason they cant have the Bold letters on the Global Wallet design either.

Just received my gold card. The only difference is the 6 is now a 7

So are the cards for Gold as well? ill be Gold in a few days and would like the new design and metal bag tags

Update: Just asked VA Lounge staff and they are just being rolled out for platinum at the moment and no time estimate for gold and silver

Maybe they want to keep all the cards with the same design but are unsure which way to go.

Platinum Status, Submitted a request for new card online and received the new version of the card today.

Not a big deal but didn't realise as someone else has mentioned that you can call up for new luggage tags also. Might attempt that at some stage

I requested replacement bag tags 21st DEcember and received some time in the last few days. However the letter had somebody else velocity number and very old date on it. Have already forwarded to velocity.

This is identical to what happened to me when I got a mass delivery on one day. 2 of the letters were dated 28 Oct and there was a different member number on it but my name.

Finally, Virgin's frequent flyer card actually features the name of the airline!

Hopefully this means I'll no longer have to explain to staff at partner airlines that Velocity is somehow related to Virgin Australia.

Same! Spent 30 minutes in Rome trying to convince Alitalia that Virgin Australia was not Virgin Atlantic and that VA was a real code. Also a free checked bag as well.

Am I missing something. Looking at the new card compared to mine other than the layout and larger font for Platinum it has the same information. My card has always shown Virgin Australia although the last few years they added "loyalty program of" above it.

I have the standard Gold card which shows this as well, however as mentioned in a previous post, my husband's new Gold card (Global Wallet version, received in November) still doesn't show Virgin Australia on it anywhere.

Thanks, I thought it must be something simple.
